Well designed, good quality
I bought this as an extension for my travel tripod. I needed more height to raise my little Insta360 camera above crowd height to take 360 pictures. For this, it is absolutely perfect. Not sure how it would do with the weight of a typical SLR on the end. Fully extended the smallest section has a diameter of about 5/8". Twist lock is firm with none of the wobble my selfie sticks have when vertical. It has a bottom 3/8-16 socket and a top 1/4-20 bolt. It comes with an insert that converts the 3/8-16 socket to a 1/4-20 socket or the 1/4-20 bolt to a 3/8-16 bolt. Very well thought out, should handle any combination your tripod has. Perfect for me without it since I will be mounting it in place of my tripod head, which is 3/8-16, and mounting the Insta360, with is 1/4-20, directly to the top.

Super love this for professional videographer
Super lightweight and sturdy! I am suprised! I go with my DJI - RS 3 Mini 3-Axis Gimbal Stabilizer and my Sony iv 35mm-70mm perfectly fine!

Actually Surprised
Based on the price and weight, I was not expecting much. My initial opinion is that I am actually surprised. Seems well designed and built. Have not mounted my gimbal and iPhone 14 Pro to it yet. That will be the real test to see how this Carbon Fiber Extension will work out.I will update this review after using it in the field with a load on it.

Works well
It’s light but surprisingly rigid enough to hold my GH6 mirrorless cam in a cage. It collapses so compact too. It’s worth having in a kit to extend a monopod.

Strong, very light,great for gimbals
I use this as an extension for gimbals, lights and to raise a tripod. It works well for all of them. The collapsed weight of 12” makes it very easy to pack

I am amazed at the high quality
Sorry for the back lit images snapped on the phone quick, but the quality was above what I expected, it is light weight and sturdy, the turn to open is solid and same when you turn it back to close, sliding the sections in and out is solid and the stops are firm no play nor wobble, intended in my case to carry the flash gun/radio transceiver/easy softbox modifier and does that brilliantly with the sections extended all the way no wobbling, I recommend this highly for what I used it for, seems to be able to carry heavier , but I did not try nor I intend to.

Much much much better than I expected for such few reviews and purchases
Got the rod about half an hour ago and I'm very impressed. I use a DJI OM4 SE so I'm not sure how it would cope with big DSLR gimbals but it's very sturdy, even at full extension. I love how pretty the carbon fiber weave is and everything feels very high quality. The product images make it looks a decent amount bigger than it actually is but that's not necessary a bad thing. I do wish it was a bit cheaper but then again, who doesn't?If you're worried that this is made of fake carbon fiber, I can assure you it's very real (I love carbon fiber). It's pretty light too and I'm very happy with my purchase.
