MoenEva Chrome Posi-Temp Valve Trim Kit without Valve, T2131

Seems high quality, especially the handle. Would definitely recommend this over cheap aftermarket trim kits. Install is literally 10 minutes. i do wish they inckuded a hex tool as i couldnt find the exact size in my standard hex tool kit--had to go get my big hex set with 20 sizes. Very pleased with this item.NOTE: if the handles sticks too far out, it's not the trim kit. Your shower valve is not recessed enough. My valve was kind of free-floating behind the wall (except for the water pipes). To prevent mine from moving forward when tightening, I but a couple of small wood blocks between the valve and the inside of the wall. The handle should be no more than an inch from the surround. That said, if it's more, there is no problem except it looks odd.

I can't believe how many years I struggled with my old plastic round handle, when it was this easy to install the new single lever handle instead. I went on the Moen website and found what style of valve I had in place (a Posi-Temp) and verified that any of their posit-temp trim kits would work. (BTW, there are 3 basic styles they make, so make sure you also have Posi-Temp if you are looking to buy this handle).It took me about 6 minutes to do the install and it works like a charm. Install was easy and straightforward. Good instructions come with it, although it could be done intuitively, it was that easy. As others have mentioned, my handle does not sit flush into the back plate but really - I could care less. It works so well now.I would have preferred the gold or brass finish, but the price difference ( approximately $300) was just not worth it. Chrome will do fine.

We had a plumber install these in our bathroom remodel. One of the them leaked. We tried to contact MOEN multiple times as per the instructions and could only leave a message. We left multiple messages and NEVER received a call back. Finally my husband went to a big box store to buy a new cartridge. Upon changing out the cartridge we realized that there was a tear in the gasket. Overall we have had great success with MOEN products and have placed them in several showers. This is the first time we have had to buy an additional cartridge. Without support from MOEN we had an unexpected cost on this remodel. We had no issues with Amazon nor the seller. Instructions in the box said to call MOEN directly with any issues. For a large company they have opportunities for better customer service.

Replaced an older Moen teardrop-shaped handle with this trim kit. The screws that attach the backplate to the valve at positioned at 2 and 7. Moen made this trim kit with the ability to fit different thicknesses of shower walls. So if your shower wall is thin the handle will seem as though it's protruding away from the backplate IE the thicker the wall the closer the handle will fit in relation to the backplate. It may seem stupid but all shower walls are not built the same. If your wall is just right it will fit perfectly.

This is well made. Unfortunately we had to return because our plumber made us switch out to another brand due to technical issues (no fault of the Moen brand).

It's a very good quality product. Installation for older valves may be a bit tricky though. It took us about 2hrs but with some modifications we were able to do it without calling a plumber. The finish is horrible, it's hard to clean and shows finger prints and water spots. It constantly looks dirty and untidy. Settle for Moen's spot resistant brushed nickel instead.
