Q: Whats' the difference assent pants and the tactical pants?

So, Ive tested a few of their pants. Returned some and kept others. Best way I can describe is; the 24/7 line is more for everyday use. Specifically, the Ascent are one of the most mist comfortable utility pants I've ever worn. They are lightweight and material is thinner but not cheap. Makes them great for summer/ warmer weather. Probably not great for colder winters. In the 24/7 line, I only have the Ascent pants. I tried other 24/7 pants like xpedition, but found the ascent to be far more comfortable or better fitting. However, ymmv. The ascent are only available in solid colors. If by tactical, you mean their T.R.U. uniform line, those are more "professional/field" use. Heavy duty military fatigues. Those come in solids and various cammo. I would suggest doing what I did... order one from each series to see what you like best. The ones you dont return. Returns super easy w/ amazon

Q: Is this a joke? $79 for these pants?

I have the ascent pants for a couple years now and still feel great and have been take some beatings also. Worth the $$$

Q: Is the fit the same as the original version?

Not quite - the originals are patch pockets and the Ascent are internal so they fit a little tighter. The legs taper a bit as well so once again they are different. Having said that, they fit me in the same size for either one and I wear them interchangeably. BillC

Q: How long is the unhemmed length?

On the 34 unhemmed, I would equate them to be equal to a pair of 34x36 or so. The main difference is the amount of room. I tried to save money as I wear 34x32 normally and the unhemmed are greatly more roomy. Not an issue for me with big legs, but would possibly be an issue for someone that doesn't have large thighs.
