It sounds like you need a ground loop isolator. They are very cheap. They come in RCA and 3.5mm. Just search AMAZON for: "ground loop isolator 3.5mm"

this is an RJ11 cord?

no, it has an rj45 jack on one end of the adapter so you can plug an ethernet cable into it for your transmission line. An rj11 plug/cord will plug into it but it will not fit properly and would not work well for your audio if it were a very long cable
