FAMOUS FIVE GRAPHIC NOVEL: FIVE ON A TREASURE ISLAND

Wonderful to relive my childhood
I ordered it for myself as I’m a great Enid Blyton fan. Though definitely one can’t compare a full novel to a graphic comic, but the writers, designers and the entire team have done full justice to Ms. Blyton’s works. The graphic novel is crisp and easy to understand with a great visual appeal. A must-have for an anyone with kids or who is a die-hard fan of Enid Blyton books.

Old favourite in graphic Novel form
The media could not be loaded. It's always interesting to see how artists interpret your favourite characters from your childhood. I loved this graphic novel (comic). Julian and Anne looked just as I imagined. Dick and George though look way better than they've been described as in the original. The comic font is interesting. Reminiscent of the old Tintin comics.

What a disappointment! What a pathetic effort indeed!
This had the potential of being an excellent adaptation. And what I got looked like the best effort of a 10 year old who can draw but is not talented enough to reach anywhere near "reasonable", let alone "brilliant". It's a profoundly shameful effort. It looked like a collection of pictures which could be best used as illustrations of the original volume, but not a comic in its own right. The drawings look immature at best, with dishearteningly poor management of storytelling. If you had not read the original by Blyton, you will have no clue what is going on.

Great little graphic novel of a classic book
A really nice version of this story by Enid Blyton. The pictures are great and in keeping with the era the book was written in.

Comic book style
This famous five book series has been updated and it is much different from the old ones that I had in my childhood in that these are comic book style. Because of this I find that there is less reading and more imagination in play which isn’t a bad thing, it’s just not what I was expecting. I was hoping to share these story books with my children but they are more of a read on your own. Regardless, they are nicely illustrated.

Nostalgia hit
As my wife used to love these stories as a child I got this as a nostalgic read for her. It's a nice quality book, a bit larger than your average paperback but not as big as other graphic novels we have. There are around 50 something pages so quite achievable for more reluctant readers. The important plot elements remain and we love the new format as a graphic novel. I look forward to introducing my children to this when they're a bit older.Very happy.

A great introduction to famous five
These are a really great way to introduce a younger child to famous five or those that are daunted by the bigger books. The stories are obviously abridged but the flow is the same as the original books. The illustrations are great and very similar to a Tintin style. My son loves these and reads them by himself which is great.
