Fun and yummy
Very fun! If you're unfamiliar with Japanese candy kits but you want to try it out, this is a good one to get. The flavors are potent and "odd" at first since I'm an American who rarely tastes anything similar. Its very sweet and most of it was a cross between bubble gum and grape flavor. The texture was strange (like real sushi) and surprisingly overall a tasty little activity. I enjoyed the little popping caviar "eggs" 😅

Fun to create super easy Japanese candy kit.
I've made these 50 times I kinda don't need the instruction I have it by memory when I first discovered these on YouTube I'm like, I have to try these so I ordered them the 1st time was a little wonky it was my 1st time making it after watching video, but the more I practiced the more better I got at it. It's super sweet and the appearance is very identical to the box the consistency is very sturdy the it can be a perfect gift value for birthday gift or a Christmas gift super early super fun highly recommend. It's all so fun to make and super early just be slow and don't rush add to much water it can be stick add less water can be less dry, but add the good amount of water is perfect. Be slow take your time read direction if needed and have fun with it. Highly recommend.

Love
I love all the Popin' Cookin' kits. This is my favorite and I've been buying it for years. It's fun and easy to put together, and everything tastes delicious. It turns out as a small snack. I love the "rice" the most. The instructions are color coded and easy to follow. Kids might need some help though.

Fun to make.
My kids have seen these candies on YouTube we decided to try them. It was more fun to make than to eat. They did try all of the different flavors, none were particularly nasty. Everything is included just add water. We would try them again and recommend to a friend.

Not great tasting
I think the quantity and appearance was great but the quality of the gummies wasn’t the best and it didn’t taste amazing!! Probably wouldn’t but again but not bad.

So fun
These kits are so fun to make. I got two of these for my son and I so because we love DIY kits. The texture was fine and it tasted great to us. The colors seemed to match what the foods actually look like so thats a plus.

More fun to make than it is to eat
This is the second Popin Cookin set I've tried: the first being the ramen, which was basically just mushy candy noodles soaked in vaguely cola-flavored sugar sludge. I wanted to give the brand another shot, seeing that the ramen had at least been fun to make. What drew me to this set was the roe, which seemed super interesting to me: basically, you use a dropper to drop little droplets of liquid into another liquid that comes with the set, and it solidifies on contact, making a bunch of cute little roe balls. So I figured I would give Popin Cookin another shot with the sushi set. As expected, it was really fun to assemble. The roe part was the best part, as expected. But then it came time to assemble and taste the candies I'd spent about 5 minutes making... and they were not at all worth the effort. Let's start with the biggest problem: there is too much of some components and too little of other components. I followed the instructions as told, even using the little plastic pouch to measure things out. But there was still too little of the "rice" to make decent sushi, and too much of everything else. the tuna and egg gummies were incredibly oversized compared to the rice balls, which made it incredibly difficult to put them on (one of the tuna gummies fell apart in the process.) Not only that, but even with the instructions provided I couldn't knead the seaweed chewy candy tall enough to actually make the roe sushi: I could only put a little scoopful on top and the rest spilled out. Even then, there would be so much roe left over. Not to mention the soy sauce. There's too much of it and I can barely dip my sushi into it anyway without it all falling apart. Now we get into the taste. My first biggest problem is the texture: everything is just so bland and mushy. The tuna and egg gummies fall apart in your mouth, and the rice has the texture of overcooked rice mush. Not to mention, nothing tastes like it's supposed to. The rice was supposed to be ramune flavored, but it just tasted like sugar syrup. I don't even know what the tuna and egg were supposed to taste like, but they just tasted like sugar syrup too. There's really no distinct flavors, just a bunch of sugary mush. I know some Japanese candies are just more mildly flavored compared to candies here in the States, but this is beyond mild-- it's just mush. As for that soy sauce I mentioned earlier, it was almost identical to the broth from the ramen kit. Completely inedible. The only things I did enjoy were the seaweed chewy candy, and the roe. Once again, if it weren't for ya boi roe this kit would have absolutely nothing going for it. They were the only part of this kit that actually tasted like something, and they pop in your mouth sort of like a smaller popping boba. I ended up giving the rest of the sushi to the trash bin and just scooping the roe out with the little plastic shovel. Overall, if you're looking for a fun little DIY experiment to sink 5 minutes into, then this is the product for you. If you actually want to enjoy the candy you make, though, I'd look somewhere else. The only reason this got 2 stars instead of 1 is because of ya boi roe.
