This is a piece of junk. It is anything but "heavy duty." The cheap, thin Chinese metal in the handle of this tool is not anywhere near strong enough to stand the torque required to loosen a lug nut. It will bend. Guarantee me, the handles of this thing will bend, you will swear, and the lug nut will not come off. Then you'll send it back as I have.

Previously used a craftsman wide mouth pliers that did grab, but required extra work to get the cover off…and with scratches. This item does work but requires a firm grip and some wiggling to get the cover off. And no scratches! After continued use I have found two important aspects of this tool. First, the jaws work best when clean; after a thorough cleaning the jaws did a great job of removing all 10 caps on the next wheel with any slippage! Second, the handle covers hardly slip when all is clean and a small bit of glue does a great job of eliminating any slippage.

For years I took the chrome lug nut covers off by hand on my diesel pusher coach wheels. It was one of the hardest parts of taking the wheels off. I didn't know this tool was available until I had the wheels retorqued at a shop. This tool makes it so easy to remove and replace them! The rubber coating really grips the caps! Fast shipping and a fair price made this an easy decision to buy!

Lug nut cover can be a bear to get off, but are usually made of plastic. Using a large, toothed tool ruins the finish, but this tool is perfect.

I used the puller to remove old lug nut caps and replace with new caps on my Alcoa wheels. The puller works okay to remove them as long as you can retain a firm grip when pulling off. Puller worked great when installing new caps. Overall works good and at a good price point.

Don’t waste your money They are cheap and absolutely do not work for removing caps on truck or rv rims.
