Few insights; many statistics
The author clearly has passion, but lacks writing skill. Full of grammatical and linguistic errors, the run-on sentences go on and on and on. The plethora of (inconsistently presented) statistics may be interesting to some readers, but Osaka's summaries ultimately give you no insight into the larger view of the players and their importance or relevance.

What's up with Kobe
This is a really good book because it is so informative and yet so easy to read. It's more of a NBA reference guide than a book, which is awesome. You don't have to read it front to back, you can just go to a chapter or player that you want to read about, and there you will find every important career statistic you need to know, along with tons of interesting tidbits. I really enjoyed reading and learning about all of the great players of the past like Jerry West, Wilt Chamberlain, and Bob Cousy, who I have never had an opportunity to see play but after reading about them and their stats I really appreciate why they are viewed as some of the greatest players ever to play the game. Also, included in each players chapter is a section that compares similar players, even those from different era's. The player comparison sections allow you to decide for yourself who the greatest players of all time are. The only beef I have with this book is poor ranking Kobe Bryant received. I think he deserves a higher ranking but after comparing Kobe's stats and accolades with those ranked above him, it has become hard to objectively argue that he should be ranked higher. So If you are just learning about the NBA or are a hardcore fan, this is one of the best resources to have.

A great review of the 50 top players.
A very informative book with a fun, yet detailed review of each player on the list. The author’s enthusiastic approach to the history of the sport is nicely matched with his encyclopedic knowledge of the game!

One star is one too many, a ZERO...
I have read many books on NBA history and its players and this is one of the worst. It is hard to read, poorly organized, and full of typos and factual error. There are better books invest your money elsewhere.
