Yamaha also had a new Tran acoustic called the TAG 3 C that’s amazing but 2x the price . Had a looping feature where you can lay down different riffs etc.. and play all at the sam time. There is no gig bag with the FSTA even when you buy it from a big box guitar store. Enjoy the LSTA as it is well worth it, I just was playing mine! I got it at a good price too! **Q: Does the pickup still work without a battery?** A: Since a standard 1/4" cable isn't powered, the guitar still needs the battery - the chorus and reverb will work through the PA or amp; so there's no need for extra effects. It DID have a feedback issue. I contacted Yamaha and they approved a free repair on the Guitar. And when the TA is working... WOW! It's amazing. That said the whole electronic system is super wonky, it rattles, and my TA went out completely after 1 month on my 1st guitar and 1 day with my second guitar of the same model. In the end, the whole TA system is a bit gimmicky and wonky. I have just returned it, and instead went with the acoustic/electric guitar and an amp.
