Durable and wearable. My dog loves this thing.
The media could not be loaded. I got this for my dog for a hiking camping trip. She’s a German shorthaired pointer. She’s got tons of energy is bounding to the forest the whole time while wearing this pack loaded up with three days worth of dog food and some other camping gear. Bike again was about 4 miles and factoring in her additional circling back and running in circles and bowing through the forest. She probably wore that thing for 8 miles worth of travel. It stayed in place while and was very sturdy. She absolutely loves this thing every time we take it out of the closet and she spins in circles and jumps with excitement. I think this thing was a good deal. It was comfortable for her for an expanded period of time. The size was perfect fit. It looks great. I went with the orange for the high visibility in the forest. Carried a lot of food and equipment and all the ads and very secure

This bag holds a lot.
I am so excited about this bright orange RuffWear back pack. I love the way it is constructed.I have a tall thin Miniature Pinture he has a big chest and a tiny neck and waste. He is about 15 pounds and 17 inches tall. He is supper fast .This back pack fits him perfectly it is on the smallest adjustment for his neck and waste and made a little bigger around his barrel chest. My dog loves to run I take him for long walks and when no one is at our park I let him off leash so he can run free . But I can’t always do that and walks do not tire him out enough. But this is a game changer.I can put a lot of stuff in the deep pockets on this bag to give him extra weight to carry to tire him out so he is not so destructive.I started off with just a free items in the small pockets like his poop bags and treats on one side and some small toys in the other side. Then I added in each side of the big pockets one small bottle of water. When we came home after his 2 mile walk he was ready to get in his bed and sleep.I love the fit, the color, how easy it is to put on a take off. I also love the nice zippers to keep his stuff secure. I thought it was expensive when I first looked at it but I was able to snag a deal on the last one in orange so I jumped on it . It would have been I good deal even at full price because this is not a toy . It holds a lot of stuff and is made extremely well and will out last my dog I believe. Thanks for an awesome product.

The perfect day pack for your dog! Very well constructed and organized! Buy it, you won't regret it!
I can't tell you how long I researched this purchase. Not so much because my husband is cheap but I wanted to get the best dog backpack once. And thanks to everyone's awesome reviews, we chose this one, and it's perfect in every way! Our one and a half year old golden retriever is 73 lbs and this fits him beautifully, with some room to grow. No problems at all for peeing or anything. And it's funny, we notice when he has it on he has way less of a tendency to jump on people when they want to pet him lol, which we're really loving since he's still all crazy puppy! The pouch sizes are perfect for our needs. It's not for hiking but just for out and about day trips. Two water bottles can easily fit on each side, and as long as you keep the load fairly balanced it really doesn't slide much. It did take some getting used to more for the way he has to step into it (a little awkward so works better if it's not packed up) but it is extremely well made (totally worth every penny of the price), very functional and well thought out and we're thrilled we'll get so many years of use out of it! Love it. Thank you ruffwear!

Mostly Happy.
I have a lab/pointer mix who, like me, loves the outdoors, so I bought this pack, so that we could go on long hikes together and he could ruck his own food and water--which is substantial. Also, I can tell he feels useful and important when he's wearing it--like he's pulling his own weight, literally.Let's start with the good:1. I like the big side pockets in which I can store lots of stuff. The sloping design also centers the weightaround his shoulders instead of his back--good thinking.2. Although a larger selection of colors would be nice, I like the bright colors, so that some trigger-happy yokel doesn't shoot my dog while he's enjoying a peaceful run through the woods.3. I think the fit is good. I can't detect any signs of discomfort from him even after a long hike--notthat he would tell me. This is a very important attribute to me. I know how a bad fitting pack can ruin along hike for me. Trying to be a good Dad, I tested it by having him wear a full pack on our walks inthe neighborhood before we went on an actual hike with it.4. The sturdy handle and metal D ring (kudos for using metal) for his leash hook-in is great. A strip ofreflective material is a good idea for night-hikers and fabric straps for attaching gear is very thoughtful.5. The price is reasonable for such a well-designed and manufactured product. The not so good:1. The bottom material is pretty rugged, but the side material--not so much. After my pup has been running through the woods and brushing up against trees and brush, the abrasions have opened up a small hole in one side pockets and there are also some future holes in process. A dog doesn't realize he's 50% wider while wearing a pack, so any dog-owning thoughtful designer would have considered that when choosing the side material. I understand that the lighter material will allow the pack to dry more quickly and perhaps be a little lighter, but if I have to choose between weight and sturdiness, I'll take sturdy every time.2. Balance. I feel like an aircraft pilot who has to make weight and balance measurements to keep the pack centered while on the hike. Both sides of the pack have to be very well-balanced in order for it not to slide to one side or the other. I was passing water back and forth between water bottles after our water breaks to keep the pack balanced. Certainly, you all can come up with a modification, so that the pack is not so sensitive to slight imbalances. In conclusion, I have to buy a new pack, because my always-hungry dog has gained a few pounds and needs a bigger size. I will replace it with another Ruffwear pack since the good attributes out-weigh the not-so-good in this case. I guess that's an endorsement.
