Just the coolest little computer
Not for the faint of heart - this is definitely a hobbyist's computer - BUT with 2 ethernet ports, 2.4/5G wifi, bluetooth, multiple audio and video ports, multiple USB ports, including a USB C...this thing is just COOL. Yes, you have to buy an SSD and some DDR3L to actually make it work and it needs an OS. It comes with a CD (okay - you'll need an external drive, but they are cheap, too) with all the windows drivers if you decide to go that route. This is a very low-end computer (won't ever support Windows 11) but for 99% of what you'll need it for, it is just fine. And it slips into a backpack with a 7" monitor and mini-keyboard. It does require 19VDC in, so battery-powering means you'll need a DC/DC supply, which is a bit of a bummer - I'd like to see 12VDC operation, but (did I mention this is a hobbyist's computer?) that's the only thing keeping this from being highly mobile. Also - Zotac customer support is awesome.

Little, simple, steam machine...
My dad purchased this for a family member and for the little bit I did work on it to set it up for them, it worked great for what it is. Sadly they live back in Kansas(Live in CA) and my dad took the trip back there. Barely a week after he left they messed up something on the computer and called us for help. I informed my dad of a video on Youtube for this issue they were having and they manage to fix it by following the instructions. I know my dad was trying to be nice, but they have a couple of "Free loaders" in their house back there and I worried they would do something to mess up the computer.Anyway, if your looking for a simple computer for watching video in your living, a workstation, and even light gaming this will work well. It's up-gradable to 8GB of ram and I put a 120gb SSD(50$) that my dad bought for it, but I was hoping to work around the limited 32 GB windows was on. I tried cloning windows onto the 120gb ssd, but when I went to book to it, I got a BSOD. So basically I ran out of time I could work on it and just told them to be careful of loading to much on the C:/Windows drive and put programs on the 120GB SSD drive. It did run really warm, like its a mini heater warm, but it's passive cooling so that normal. I check temps and they seemed fine even under load. You get what you pay for, if you want to mount this to the back of a tv with a vesa mount, use a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse from you couch this works great for that purpose. Though considering how much this runs I could get a G4560 Pentium and build a 400$ computer instead, but it's kind of hard to pack something like that with two other suit cases to an airport and fly back to Kansas. I even was thinking of a small form factor, but I wouldn't have enough time to get the parts and assemble it before my dad had to leave, which is why we settled on this. Also they have an old VGA monitor so that also a reason I like this since it had a VGA port.I know could have gotten a adapter, but more stuff to buy. Anyway that's about it, I wish I could tell you more, but the Zbox is nowhere near me and last I heard everything is working fine. Also installing ram and a 2.5" drive is easy. Just remove the screws from the bottom, which don't need tools and can be done with your fingers.

USB ports are bad. Randomly eject
USB ports are bad. Randomly eject . And 3.0 doesn't work very well . Very unstable when transfer files . USB 2.0 works fine . But 3.0 keeps giving me errors . No wonder new surface pro play it safe by keeping 2.0 USB.

It works great with no problems to speak of
I installed sophos xg on this and use it as my internet firewall in my home lab. It works great with no problems to speak of. I have it running with 4GB of RAM and a 60GB SSD.

I'm sure someone could sideload some drivers to make it better but I ended up just making it a webserver ...
Current pfsense has issues with the memory card ready, creates about 30-50 second longer boot time as it loops through trying to figure out wtf it is. I'm sure someone could sideload some drivers to make it better but I ended up just making it a webserver instead of my FW. I replaced a i3 large dell with this low power solution and its rock solid.Fyi - for Ubuntu /debian you will get the dreaded Intel blackscreen issue unless you install a GUI. I went with xfce because its stupid light and fine for me.It runs fine in my closet running in the around 80 degree environment.
