It's a rubber type overlay that protects the keyboard from dust, spills and everyday wear. The material is thin so I dont have to apply more pressure to the keys when typing. It lays flat, does not shift or move, and can easily be removed and wiped off for occasional cleaning, which is also easy. I love the color, it looks nice, is durable, and the size is matched by your model number. I recommend to anyone for the office or home.

Fits right on my 17” laptop! This is a lifesaver because I have a broken A key and H key(not the keys themselves, but the attaching hardware of the laptop itself), and the cover protects the keyboard while keeping the keys in place so they don’t jiggle loose or strike at odd angles. I can type at higher speeds again, and I greatly appreciate it for that fact alone. I went for clear, because I don’t like when the keys don’t match the labels at times.

I bought this cover for my HP Model 17-cp3005dx, one of the models listed in the product title. This cover is great. It's easy to set on the keyboard, doesn't move around, and has a nice texture. However, I noticed today that the F2, F3, and F4 keys on the cover are incorrect-- the Brightness Down and Brightness Up buttons on the cover are shifted to F3 and F4, whereas the actual keys are on F2 and F3. It isn't a big deal, but it definitely caused me some confusion when I went to adjust my brightness and it wasn't working until I realized that I was misled by the cover. The F11 key is also incorrect; the cover shows the Keyboard Backlight icon but that does not match the actual key on the laptop. Otherwise, very happy with my purchase!

If you find it difficult to see (super skinny, small) grey letters on silver grey keys on silver grey laptop, this is a great solution. No more just-right lighting in a just-right angle needed. Wish I found this sooner! It's a thin, lightweight cover, slightly molded to fit each key. I only had to place it over top of the keyboard, jiggle it a tad to get it to line up perfectly over every key. And it's so easy to pick it up off the keyboard and easily replace. It stays in place while I work away. It has some very miniscule waviness from being folded in package, but I expect that to flatten out - It does not affect performance. I have an HP cp model and it fits perfectly over every key. Hard to tell if the graphics are going to wear away with time - they are on top of the cover, not underneath. I'm thinking the most likely keys to show wear (middle letters/spacebar) will be easy to find from the letters around it that won't wear - if it gets to that. If it does the benefit to having the cover greatly outweighs the cost of replacement. Some reviews mention the different feel. Yeah, typing on a soft plastic (feels similar to silicone) is different than a slick-surfaced key. The cover muffles typing sounds, but pressing the keys is the same. What's different is my fingers don't slide over the covered keys as easily as they do over the uncovered keys, which have a slicker surface. It's especially noticable with the space bar. I'm a fast touch-typer, not hunt and peck, so it'll take some getting used to. I'd rather the slick surface, so my fingers can fly, but I prefer !even more! actually seeing the keys when I need to! (What was HP thinking when they designed the keys!?) Another few days and I don't think I'll much notice the difference in feel. I'm only sorry I didn't find this sooner. *Update* If I'm doing a lot of typing, I do remove the cover to avoid the drag-y feel. But it only takes seconds to replace for the majority of time when I need to see the keys. Definitely still better to have this cover than not. After a couple months, there is a worn clear spot on the black space bar where my thumb hits, but all the often-used keys are doing fine.

This works perfectly for my laptop that does not have a backlit keyboard and keys that are not easy to read because they are grey. I got the black keys with bright white print that is so much easier to see. I like the feel of the keys when I type too. I would recommend! Just make sure to check the dimensions and how your keys are placed.

fits almost perfectly over my laptop keyboard. useable but it does move a bit so if you are using it for long periods, you mya find yourself adjusting it so you don't hit the wrong key. It's fine for the limited time i spend on the laptop during the day.

It does the job as advertised. The glue holding it down to the keyboard is not very strong but it is enough to keep it in place without issues. I have been using this for close to 3 years and it is holding out decently. The black color on several keyboard keys is faded and turning mostly white. The letters are visible and there is no tear anywhere so it is still functional, I do not mind the faded colors therefore it still gets 5 stars for me. If you care more about esthetics in the long run, you may wanna shop for something that holds out better.

Protege muy bien el teclado, solo si es retroiluminado como mi caso recomiendo comprar la transparente.

schöne dezente Farbe, liegt gut auf & passt sehr gut; ist aber amerikanische Tastatur: für deutsche braucht man noch dt. Klebetasten, z.B. bei Lacerto, wo man einige Tasten überklebt.
