Well, I broke (yet again) one of those plastic feed scoops that come in an aray of colors. (You know, one of those box looking ones that every feedstore has in an abundance and in every eye catching color.) It was probably the fifth or sixth one I broke. Anyway, I decided I was done with those so I started to look for a nice metal scoop. I checked Amazon as well as my local feed stores. The ones at the feed stores were rather large so I decided to try to find a smaller one since I deal in chicken feed and not horse feed. Plus, I wanted a scoop that fit easily into a feed bag. After looking at Amazon's offerings, knowing the size I wanted, and reading reviews, I selected this scoop. It came well packaged with care. It surprised me a little because it's just a metal scoop. The scoop is very well made and sturdy. I had to try it out, so off to the coop I went. I grabbed the Girls's feeder and proceeded to fill it. The scoop performed fantastically. It has a nice weight to it without being hard on your hands and wrists. The feed scoops easily into the scopper and slides right out like a hot knife through butter. The handle itself is comfortable to hold and use and is coated in a nice brown color of whatever it is the coated it with. I love the more compact size compared to the scoops at my feedstore. This scooper fits easily into and out of a chicken feed bag with out dumping feed every where because it doesn't get hung up in the bag. Over all, I really am very happy with feed scoop and I anticipate that it will last for years to come.

I use it daily to scoop tones of ground up plastics for reprocessing. Its durable and lightweight for a decent price. It's hard to find the one gallon metal scoop, but it's just the right size for accurate dispensing of needed product mixtures.

It's what we use at the farm and ranch, and in the parking lot and driveway. We spread salt in ice storms, spread chicken feed, spread whatever. It's galvanized (steel coated in zinc) so it won't rust. It's the right size (2qt), which is ideal. Any bigger and you won't fit it into your bucket or bag. Don't get a flimsy plastic scoop that will break. This type of scoop with the flat bottom (not a long handle ice scoop) is the real deal. Long handle gets in the way of your bag or bucket. This is the best scoop design you can get. You can't find these at many stores these days, so I'm glad to find it online. I lost my old one and desperately needed another to spread salt for the winter season and this one is working great. Seems sturdy and well made.

Great I have a bin with birdseed in. It’s great to scoop it up and put it in small one that I used to fill my bird feeder.
