I needed a lock fitting for the outside of my gate as the original inside bolt was too high up for me to reach over and unlock, it also served to steady the gate and stop any rattling.The lock fitting is sturdy, the bolt runs free and the latch to secure the bolt with a lock is fit for purpose.You can’t manipulate the latch once the lock is secured down, meaning the bolt stays in position.My dad pointed out that the screws supplied with the lock were the wrong metal meaning they would rust and damage the lock over time so he put screws of the same metal in.This lock requires a flush gate/gate post to be able to lock correctly, if they don’t sit level the bolt will either not meet the post part or will catch and damage it.My dad made some slight adaptations to ours as even with a new gate post our gate won’t sit flush.I bought an oversized post so my dad could drill a hole into the post for the bolt. Rather than sitting outside it now locks into the wood and the latch can still be dropped down and locked.Obviously like any lock fitting they are all vulnerable to burglars or vandals, but at least with this in place I feel safer leaving my garden knowing it’s locked from the outside rather than open!

Time will tell if it lasts in the Great British weather. I used my own screws so can’t comment other than they looked a little flimsy

Well made although the edges were a bit sharp, which resulted in minor cuts. A quick sanding down of the relevant parts solved the problem but should have been done in production.

. . . but the screws are inadequate. Anyone with a screwdriver could easily prize them out of the wood.- I'll just have to get some bigger screws. Not the end of the world but it spoils an otherwise excellent product

Solide, bien conçu, le produit respire la qualité et est surtout bien moins cher que dans les grandes surfaces de bricolage.
