Given the low pricing (by comparison to the branded product), I didn't know what to expect. Now that I've used them on a few hundred sous vide cooks, I'm totally convinced these are just as durable as the expensive bags. I've been using sous vide as a cooking method for over 11 years and because the branded bags were so expensive, I cleaned them thoroughly and reused them. After 10 years, this became habit. I had doubts that these Avid Armor bags would hold up to 2-3 time usage to which I had become accustomed. I am quite pleased to say there is no difference that I can tell. They seal perfectly, the seal holds on cooks as long as 72 hours. I have had only two seal failures in 11 years and both were my own fault. Naturally, the bags get smaller and smaller with each usage, but given I sous vide real meat for my 12 year old cat (3 oz per day) my last use of the smallest bag parts -- usually about 4x5 inches -- is for this. I do a month's worth of cat food at a time and have washed and re-used bags as many as five times.
