This grill is amazing!
This cast iron grill fits perfectly over the center long burner of our GE stove. Grills steaks, burgers and chicken to perfection! Yes, it's heavy but that's due to it being cast iron. Easy to clean, just remember to oil it before using it the first time and season it so it won't rust. We are so happy with this purchase. Seems kind of expensive but well worth the money. Rainey days, snowy days....no problem. You don't have to go outside to get perfectly grilled food. Great purchase!!

so pleased with this product
we purchased a new oven and it came with a nasty nonstick center section. This was a great alternative to nonstick. it showed up very heavy in weight and wonderful quality. Two sided for options of grill and flat surface. fit right into the space. We are pleased with the purchase.

Great replacement Griddle! Love it!
I needed to replace the griddle that came with the stove. Like other reviewers said, the original griddles coating came off after a week or two of use. After reading the reviews on this cast iron griddle, I decided to try it. I’m so glad I did! It is excellent. Fits on the stove perfectly. I actually like it better. I did listen to the tips from other reviewers and After I got it, even though it is pre-seasoned, I seasoned it again. I have had it about 2 weeks and after each use I wash and then dry it on the stove with heat. I rub a little oil on it and it is cooking great...no sticking. The first time using I cooked bacon on it and it stuck a little but now nothing is sticking and it cleans easily. I also love that I can reverse it and have a grill for steaks and burgers! It’s all about taking care of the cast iron. I am totally satisfied with this purchase and it was worth the money!

Amazing griddle!!! Better than the one that came with the stove.
I would have given it 5 stars, but it was extremely rough when received, so I had sanded it down with 80 grit sand paper, then a light sand with 120. The purpose wasn't to give it a polished finish, just to smooth it a little but. Sanding the griddle was the easy part, but as you can imagine, sanding the grill was annoying.Aside from that, it is an amazing griddle that fits between the two grates. You make have to push them aside a little, but it all fits nicely. Although it is reversable and will never use the grill, that's just my personal preference. It is cast iron, so it's heavy and everyone has their own way of taking care of it. But the way I care for it, it's relatively easy, factoring the weight.

Much improved over the non-stick griddle that came with the stove
The non-stick griddle that came with the stove worked well in the beginning but the nonstick surface wore off after 1 year. I wanted something more durable and the cast iron was a great choice. Of course like anyone owning cast iron, you have to season it to keep it from rusting and keep food from sticking to it. Its been my go-to for so many cooking options. It works great for cooking breakfast, burgers, etc. My daughter loves to cook hot pastrami sandwishes with it (all the time LOL). Its been very durable. One minor complaint, it came with a small chip out of the flat side. I could have sent it back to get it replaced but chose to keep it (and hasn't impacted cooking).

Almost Overkill (almost) 1 star for "Lightweight" - ha ha
Most of the other reviews had it right. This is the real think and heavy CAST IRON deal, and the one that shipped with the stove is lightweight aluminum with a Teflon/nonstick coating. It DOES have a rougher surface, so I will save the original to use for eggs and crepes. Also, the original griddle can be used as a top weight/press when using this heavy cast one for panini and such. I quickly washed with hot water and dish soap then dried. It already had a "season" on it, and it was a good one - the kind that doesn't come off with a quick hot wash. I re-applied oil and baked at 450F for an hour. Thing is GEORGEOUS!! You will get more even heat, and better heat recovery with the cast iron. The only limit I see is with the home Chef's personal tolerance for Spatter and Mess. I love a good cast blackened cut of meat or fish, but it might be a little messy for the stovetop (??) with the super hot griddle/ hot oil and cold meat. If so - I will go back to preheating my cast pan in the oven at 500F, then add the meat/fish. I have have to deal with some smoke either way :)

Fit's perfectly
The griddle that came with my stove was losing its non-stick coating so I decided to upgrade to cast iron, so glad I did. It's not light weight, hello - it's cast iron, duh. There is a wee bit less cooking surface than the original one, but I'm fine with that. Make sure you season it prior to use and add some bacon grease to it while it's heating up. I use it for grilling mainly and I'm happy. Can't speak to foods like pancakes or french toast as I'm Keto, use your non-stick for eggs and keep this for grilling IMO. Oh, and it was much less expensive here than the GE website.

Works when GE said it would not on our gas range

Better then the non stick aluminum garbage that came with the stove.
Fits good. Says that it is wider then the original non stick but that is just the tabs on this one. Actually fits perfect.

Don't expect non-stick performance, but it looks good and works well
I seasoned this thing 5 times before use, with Canola oil at 450 degrees for over an hour each time. The cast iron is fairly porous, so you don't get non-stick performance, but it fits nicely on the GE range to replace the original 9" wide teflon coated aluminum griddle. The "grill" side is GREAT for burgers and steaks, but be prepared to work a bit to clean it up. If you're making eggs or pancakes, best to use the original aluminum grill and a wood or plastic spatula.
