The Kindle text is a little wiggy, but a GREAT novel!
I read this book to my kids long ago and remembered it as being a great little read, so I got it on Kindle. I definitely remembered correctly. It's a great Theodore Taylor book with a highly engaging story and compelling characters, all against a very interesting geo-historical background. A really overlooked gem.The only disappointing aspect here is that the text of the Kindle version is just a bit wiggy -- the scan or OCR text comes with lots of "typos" for lack of a better word. The letter "h" sometimes becomes an "n", for instance. Or, the combination of "io"s become "b"s, and "ol"s become "d"s. It's annoying but not a deal-breaker--this is still a really brilliant book.
