MephistoMen's Melchior Captoe Oxford

After using these shoes for about 2 years now, I love these shoes. So much so that I wouldn't buy any other brand now. I think the quality of these shoes towers above other brands like Allen Edmonds. I own several AE and their is a night and day difference between Mephisto and AE (Mephisto being much higher quality).These shoes are extremely long lasting. The soles are new after walking in these shoes for hundreds of hours. The leather looks like new. The color is deep and beautiful. The quality of the leather is extremely high. I love these shoes.Sizes do run a bit bigger, so get half a number smaller. My initial review was wrong; I stand corrected.Old Review:Wrongly sized and in a very bad way. It's not just about your foot size. The whole dimensions of the last are weird. On top of that, the sole is very soft and that increases the movement and friction around the foot. People think it's more comfortable because the sole is soft, but it makes for a bad support and a bad shoe in general. Compare it to leather soles which don't have much cushion at all but actually work perfectly.The sizing is totally wrong and weird. It's not even about foot size. The last is just weird.Bad experience.

Expensive but great fit and comfort right out of the box.

Best shoes that I’ve ever had - I’ll stick with them and get a new pair every couple of years, but you can’t buy them in Australia, even from Mephisto importers…. Thanks Amazon!

I had Mephisto shoes before. Shoe are quality and comfort. I measure 13 and between C and D width(Branoock). I ordered size 12.5 and it fits perfectly. The width at heel is a bit relaxed. Mephisto says that’s by design. Their shoes don’t have tight heels. I haven’t tried this outside but inside my apartment these shoes are comfortable.

The most I ever spent on a pair of shoes but worth every penny. In my case, I'm almost always a size 8.5 but the 8.5's were too big, the 8's were perfect. I ordered both sizes and returned the 8.5's. Once I got the size right the rest was pure bliss. Love the style of the Melchiors, the combination of the textured and smooth appealed to me, the quality is outstanding, and it feels like I'm wearing sneakers.

This is an exceptional shoe. I had to return them because the inner soles are glued and could not remove them to put my orthotics.

Stylish and very comfortable. Exactly what I have come to expect from any pair of Mephisto shoes. They fit as expected. However, I knew from past Mephisto Match shoe purchases that I wear an 11 in Mephisto instead of the 11.5 I usually wear in most other brands.

I was looking for the Gaetan model, which is no longer being made, and this shoe is a replacement. It's just as comfortable and though a different style equally good looking. Very pleased with Mephisto. Won't buy another brand of shoe.

The media could not be loaded.  Ces chaussures sont déjà très bien emballées, avec une notice explicative bien faite et un sac de transport qui peut bien rendre service. Les coutures semblent d’excellente qualité, la taille est assez juste, là j’ai pris 43 ma taille habituelle, et elle me vont à merveille. J’ai longtemps eu des paraboot et je dois dire que la qualité de fabrication semble du même niveau... mais presque moitié moins cher. Je reviendrais sur le commentaire apres 6-12 mois d’utilisation.Ben voilà près de deux ans après ce premier achat, utilisation assez intensive et 100% satisfait, j'en achète une deuxième paire, en effet il est recommandé de ne pas porter des chaussures tous les jours pour permettre à celle si de bien sécher entre deux utilisations.
