I “stumbled into” this book by pure accident,,,, or was it? There are no words for me to describe the value of the content of this read other than very enlightening.

If you desire to meditate in a Catholic meditation practice that is both ancient and ever new this easy to understand journey through The Cloud of Unknowing is for you. It makes The Cloud accessible to all.

I carry it with me from room to room and read it during quiet times and before going to sleep. Father Daniel's book makes a wonderful welcome gift. Thank you Father Daniel!

This is a very accessible and fun-to-read version of the "Cloud. I highly recommend it! A great way to get into apophatic prayer practice

First I must confess a possible prejudice in favor of Father Daniel's book, to wit, the author is a friend, mentor, and my pastor.The Cloud of Unknowing is one of my favorite books, but for me a bit heavy, and Fr Daniel's Distillation has made it more approachable and, again for me, a wonderful set of reflections which stands on its own feet. If it encourages the reader to go after the book on which it is based, that's a plus. Above all, may it help the reader draw closer to the Father of us all.Thanks, Father Daniel.

The author brought me a priceless message from a mystical monk of the 14th century, rendering his words powerfully relevant for today's seeker. Based on trust that it is the love of God that moves the sun and stars and breathes our mortal bodies into life, each page offers a simple path to delve deeply into that love, heart to heart with the Divine.

The key word in this title is "distilled" since it takes a spiritual classic and brings it to the modern world for simple and inspiring reading. While it can be consumed in a couple of hours, it is best to slowly savor the words as a guide for building relationship with God. This is most useful for those who practice, or wish to practice, contemplative prayer.
