Negative Battery Cable Fit for 2012-2018 Ford Focus Escape, Battery Management System Negative Cable AV6Z-10C679-P AV6Z10C679P

I have had this in my 2017 Ford Focus SE now for over a week. No issues. Remote start works again, windshield wipers don't turn on at random times. Very easy to install, as long as you have the right tools. I used a 1/2 inch socket for the bolt in the frame, which is very easy to see and access, and a 10 mm wrench to access the bolt on the negative cable. A socket was too tall to fit in there. I bought a heat shrink tube kit a while ago, and used them to tie the wires together. The wires are pretty thin, so be careful. I got which wires to hook up from another review on here and works fine. I just looked again, and its red to white, black to grey and purple, or grey with a stripe. The color on my wires were pretty faded, but I could see which was which. Super easy. Wrap it all tightly in black tape, and then reset the bcm, and you are good to go. Google how to reset bcm on your car. Should be like flick the high beams 5 times, then press the brake 3 times, and the battery light should flash within about 10 seconds

Worked well for my 2017 Ford Escape, don't buy a cable unless it has the sensor connector, most are corroded and not usable, buy this product with the battery sensor cable.

My 2017 Ford Focus started turning on the windshield wipers out of the blue and it turned out my ground cable for battery was corroded at the post terminal. There is a piece of electronics that comes attached to the negative battery cable on the post/terminal end. That piece of electronics has 2 wires on a connector that needs to be connected to the existing wires (not sure what this connector is for or where the wires go but possibly provide power or sensor of some type having to deal with the windshield wipers). Ford did wire the windshield wipers to the negative battery cable as an indicator in case of ground or cable issue. I soldered the thin plug wires before installing on to the battery post. I also used a rubber sleeve I put over the wires before soldering that I slid over the soldered wires and used a lighter to heat up the rubber sleeve which then shrunk over the soldered wire making an airtight seal. Installed a few months ago. Works great so far. No issues.

The negative terminal on my 2014 Focus SE had corroded to the point that it could no longer fully connect to the battery, the BSM module was visibily damaged, and the sensor pigtail connector had been eaten through. This was causing all sorts of trouble with starting the car, random error messages, and issues with the transmission shifting at the right times. I couldn't the find authentic Ford parts for this anywhere, so I thought I'd give this a try. Installing was about as easy as possible for working on this car (meaning it is going to be a bit of a pain no matter what - you need to first remove the entire engine air filter assembly before you can even start on the battery). Once it was in, everything fired up normally, no errors, no issues. Even the transmission is back to shifting smoothly (a minor miracle in itself for this car). We'll see how it does long term, but for now this seems to be exactly what I needed. As others mentioned, there is ZERO documentation/instructions included with this (beyond a sticker on the box stating what it is), so you are on your own with that. You'll need to cut the old pigtail wire and splice the new one in, so make sure you are comfortable with that. Wire colors do not match, so take a good look at how both the old and new connectors are oriented and make note of which wire goes where before you cut. You'll also need a ratchet with metric sockets to handle all of the bolts. Plan on this taking a couple of hours if you aren't the type that spends a ton of time under the hood of this car.

Fit like the original, and spliced into the existing wiring harness perfectly with some shrink tubing and a solder joint. No problem with the voltage sensor and the BCM recognizing the new cable.

I assumed that this would work on a 2015 Ford Focus because it looks identical but the taper for the battery post clamp is machined in the opposite direction. In other words, this cable’s sensor will sit on the right side of a battery post but the Focus needs to have the sensor on the left. I’m sure it works great for the Escape’s battery and wiring configuration so I won’t knock off any stars for my assumption.

Being that this isn't an OEM product, I was very skeptical about compatibility but I took a chance and purchased one for my 2015 Ford Escape S. So far, so good. Fits and works quite well. Hopefully it will hold up for a few years. Time will tell but for now I'm happy with my purchase and am considering buying another one as a backup just to have on hand. For those that still might be a little fuzzy about what wire goes where, this is how I wired it. Red Wire from plug gets wired to the vehicle Brown Wire With Red Stripe. Black wire from plug gets wired to vehicle white wire. Worked just fine. No issues with wipers.

Negative clamp did not fit battery post, I needed to take a file and create the proper fit, also the clip supplied did not fit my socket, needed to hard wire supplied plug. I would and should have brought an OEM as opposed to this Chinese crap.

We were getting odd electrical codes and found heavy corrosion on the negative terminal. The corrosion melted away the BMS sensor cable and connector which broke off completely when moved. Ford pricing was a few hundred bucks and a week's wait, local parts stores didn't have anything so I took a gamble on this. It isn't 'Built Ford Tough' but it seems solid enough and it worked like a charm. Thanks to the previous posters for the pigtail wiring, for the 2015 Escape SE I spliced red to brown/red and black to white. I also reset the BMS for good measure - ignition on without starting the engine, 5 high beam flashes followed by 3 or 4 break pumps and the battery light will flash to confirm the reset worked. I just finished the work today and will post an update if anything goes South but as it stands this is a great option if you can't find the parts locally or don't want to pay the FoMoCo tax.
