Classic United States Push Pin Travel Map, Satin Black Frame and Pins, 24 by 36-Inch

I imagined having something like this to record the places I've been. I found it here. Putting the pins into the map and mounting it on my wall allows me to glance up and see all the places where I've been, bringing back memories of my travels. I went back and forth between the antique "Executive" style and the "Classic" style opting for the Classic style because I like blue water and the classic "United States" title compared to the filigreed title style on the Executive map cutting Canada in two. And I opted go with the 2" wide 21834700BK Satin Black frame which had promotional price, as compared to some of the other frame styles I liked, and it is a good match for the Classic map. While I like natural wood tones, this frame does set off the map very nicely with the satin black and looks appropriate for my modern office. The map itself is a classic National Geographic map of the style you would pull out of the magazine. It is well printed and easy to read (assuming you have good eyesight or glasses as the scale requires small print for small cities). The frame from Craig Frames was well made. The corners are tight and even. A hanging wire of good strength is mounted on the back with, as far as I can tell, screws not staples. It is a little hard to see to be absolutely sure because flaps of material are thoughtfully installed over the screw heads to protect your walls from the heads which I believe I see by peeking under the flaps . The map is mounted solidly to the frame. When you press a pin into the map it seats well and the backing of the map seems to prevent you from pushing all the way through (unless you force it, I would suppose). The packaging used by the seller was exemplary in simplicity and protection from damage. The framed map was mounted to a piece of heavy-duty cardboard inside a large heavy-duty box in a way that kept the frame standing inside the shipping box at least four inches away from the edges of the box. My issues are minor. The push pins included is variety pack of colors, red, yellow, green, white, black, and a few blue. The white and yellow push pins are difficult to see when more than 2 feet away from the mounted map. It is possible, though I haven't one to compare, that the lighter pins may be more visible with the antique Executive style as the states are tinted in the border colors on that map according to the pictures whereas the Classic the states are all light with colored borders. This will be solved by getting some additional dark color push pins to use.

This map is worth every penny! It is gorgeous and high quality. It is a beautiful addition to our home. I love the black frame and detailed map. We are planning to run a race in every state, and we have placed pins in the locations of each race we’ve done so far. The pins stay put well. With the cities labeled so well, it’s easy to find locations for accuracy. I couldn’t be more pleased with this purchase. It was exactly what I was looking for.

I love this map! It's perfect for following my son's travels as a truck driver. It's detailed and easy to read which makes it simple to track his routes and see where he's been. It's not just a map-it's a way for me to stay connected to his journey. Highly recommend for anyone who loves to keep track of travels or just wants a great map of the USA!

The quality was better than expected. Well-packaged, too. We purchased the Brazilian Walnut frame. It came with 100 mixed pins. We also purchased smaller pins in one color, which I think works better for marking several spots in a tight geographical area. However, the free pins work for general pinning.

We use this for displaying the locations we have traveled over the past 12 years and going forward. It was large enough to cover the blank space in our wall and sets off our space perfectly with the excellent print quality.
