Item is suppose to be the best media and I'm sure it's great but it is EXTEMELY overpriced. I paid $70 for 4 lbs. For a 4 gallon biorb tank and I regret it. Used up nearly both bags. Horrible value and to be honest the actual biorb media is much more anesthetically pleasing so I'll probably be draining the tank and switching to it instead.UPDATE 4/18I was so careful putting it in my brand new acrylic tank and it left tons of scratches. Not happy, super pissed off. I thought because it was round it would be smooth but it's very coarse. Just spent a lot of $$$ on my new acrylic tank and it's all scratched up.

I use 3 Fluval 307 canister filters for my 60g. I have one 4" Flowerhorn. In each canister I fill the 3 trays with BioHome SuperBio Gravel, 6lbs in each canister... 18lbs total across the 3. I leave the sponges in the left tray for mechanical filtration. I place a thin layer poly fiber floss at the top below the intake/outtake. I'm noticing my Nitrate levels to be around 10ppm constant. For this to help control Nitrates you will need a lot of this stuff, over what is recommended on their website. Highly recommended.

I used this media with some other sizes/shapes of the same to improve my biorb filtration. It’s amazing.Biorbs are notorious for being terrible because the filtration is awful. But, I used this under my substrate and my tank has been perfect.

This aquarium biological cintered glass media is a great value for the money. I have used this company’s other biological media products with great success. This material is special as it easily fit into the filter I used and is just great at growing both aerobic and anaerobic “good” bacteria so necessary for keeping a healthy fish and plant aquarium.
