Beautifully illustrated and just right for a confident 7 year old reader

A great one for young readers
I bought this book for the parent of an 8 year old girl. The girl was having trouble reading for comprehension. Each night mother and daughter read a chapter out loud. By the end of the book, the child was engaged in the story and improved her overall reading. It is a timeless story and even the mother cried in the end (happy cry).
