Best Cooking Magazine, IMHO.
I've always loved TOH magazine. When I saw a years subscription was only $5, I jumped at the chance to have another subscription as I'd had many years ago. When TOH shows came to the little town I live in a couple of times several years ago. My mom, grandma, & my two daughters (4 generations) went both times & had a great time watching the cooking demos & learning lots of stuff. Plus we each went home with a free tote filled to the gills with recipes, coupons, samples, & freebies. Good memories to have as my grandma has since passed away. So, as u can see, TOH is a bit special to me. T0H still has lots of good cooking & baking tips plus it's loaded with recipes for food most people would actually eat & the average cook can make.

I Miss the Old Days
I hadn't subscribed in years and was extremely sad to see the new Taste of Home mag. The ads are so numerous it was ridiculous. I remember back in the day when they took pride in being "ad free". I understand tough times and all, but when I have to flip thru a dozen pages to get to the first recipe, it hardly seems worth it. I'm sorry to see it's come to this. I'll still buy the holiday special editions, as those seem to be a bit more traditional!

Not as good as it used to be
Subscribed back when Reiman had it. Used to find tons of great recipes. Just got a new subscription. Sadly I don't think there's a recipe in there I'd bother with. Either I do something better and more authentic or it's just store bought refrigerator biscuits used in a recipe. Just not real country cooking.

UPDATED!!!
*** Original text ***I purchased this magazine thru Amazon back in October of this year and the subscription won't start until December. I just received an email from Taste Of Home stating that I am going to receive a bill with the first issue that I will need to pay?!? Why was I charged thru Amazon and again thru Taste Of Home?*** End of original text ***UPDATE: Amazon contacted me after I posted this review and said that they would get hold of Taste Of Home to find out what is going on. I was notified that they have been paid for the subscription and that for some reason my name had found its way back into the unpaid bills. All is good now and am receiving the magazine again. I really do appreciate Amazon.com for going out of their way to make sure everything is on the up and up. I plan on putting all my subscriptions on Amazon.com so I have an easy way of keeping up with them all. Thanks Amazon.com - 5 stars for Amazon, 4 stars for Taste Of Home...

Good material but..
Paper is not glossy. The visual appeal is not there at all.
