Had a some great plants growing from these very nice

It took a while to set it all up, but was fairly straightforward. I see a lot of complaints about extra holes in the buckets, and the siphon attachments not working, but it’s not true. Read the instructions and look at the images, and it will be set it up right. You just need to pay attention.

Just getting into hydroponics and made my own buckets and decided to let someone else do the hard work. The holes and rubber grommet to the straw for water level were perfect. The lack of readable directions and just a little different straw but easily figured out. The hardest part was the pump even using a hair dryer didn’t help much with getting everything secured. Clipping the splitter on became an issue as the clamp couldn’t be seated well. Even with that I would have given it 5 stars except the air pump is so loud you can hear it thru one brick wall and two shut doors( it’s outside and loud! Thus the 4 stars. It looks great, does the job it was intended to do and would certainly buy again but certainly would find a different air pump if you could.

I havent had any issues with leaks, I saw some talking about it but I havent experienced any. The set up is simple but the rubber pieces are annoying to get into position. If its your first time doing hydroponics like it was for me, this is a great set up; note that deep wells arent ideal for a variety of plants, I am growing industrial grade hemp, which seems perfect for my needs. Only use distilled water, made the mistake of using tap and got nutrient lock out. I also made the mistake of growing industrial grade hemp potting soil then moving to the hydroponic system for vegetation stage, half of the plants did not make it from the shock. Hydroponics is not easier than normal soil, but its fun and rewarding when you figure it all out. Be sure to get a pH testing kit, a EC reader to test your solution, and if your setup is spaced out youll want more of the black hose (barely enough is provided).

Like everyone says, pumped too weak. Need more dissolved oxygen I found.

I happily bought this 8-bucket system for cherry tomatoes, with other systems cost hundreds more. As it is, I break even vs. soil in 12 years. Great customer service with this company. Recommend. The buckets are only of average weight but special because of pliable PP instead of the more commonly stiff and stronger HDPE. Flimsy polystyrene would have been even worse. Shim the unsupported bottoms at the centers by maybe 3/8". The buckets come pre-drilled, but I don't like that and will mend them all closed. My hoses go through the lids. The airline is tiny and plastic, and tiny airlines choke air flow. Go with oversize silicone hose. Air stones are small and replaceable. Keep air pump higher than water level and lose the flow choking back flow valves. A great starting point to be improved upon. Water must be changed out every so often, so do add drain plumbing and a 400 gph water pump in an extra bucket. Recirculate that water. Net baskets might be brittle so add support for the plants.
