Metallic Watercolor Paint Set of 24

This is an excellent little starter set for people just getting into watercolor. The paint itself is strongly pigmented, allowing for easy and long lasting use. Over the year that we've had it, my best friend and I have used these paints dozens of times without running out of any color. Even the most depleted still has at least 70% of the block remaining. The accessories that come with it are very useful, including a watercolor pen, a mechanical pencil, and a reference page that you paint in to show the range of each color. The casing is extremely durable, being made of metal, and the latches are easy to use. So far, our cats have run over it, knocked it off the table, and treated it like a box, all without damaging it at all. It is also small enough to be easy to store, either with other art supplies or on a bookshelf. The case is about the size of a trade paperback, making it easy to fit just about anywhere. Honestly, the only thing that could have made this better is if the case was printed with a cute pattern.

Good variety of colors and ideal size for travel

LOVE !!! Gorgeous, jewel-like colors ! The sturdy metal box has 2 swatching sheets & a plastic insert sheet to keep paints separated when closed. Paint pans are firmly attached in slots but can be removed, & have ID codes on bottom that match the swatch sheets. Some reviews have said some colors look the same— well, two sort of but not really, depends on the angle of light, paper color, and thickness of paint. Some colors are like opals, where color shifts a lot in different angles. For example, Seafoam Pearl is a light bluegreen on white but from an angle shows gold. On black, it appears gold but on angle shifts to opal-like green.. (Enlarge my photo & you can see this ). Garnet ( next to Seafoam Pearl) is deep red on white with slight purple shift, but on black is purple with red shift — again depending on angle. The colors are more distinctly different on white paper than on black— as on black you get more subtle angle-shift. Also— These do best with thorough activation w brush to get creamy consistency, Not just a light spray or swipe of water on the surface ( no no no ). All the colors have the same degree of shiny finish— which wasn’t true of the Derwent set I have ( and why I wanted to try another brand). The box, pans and paints are all excellent quality & would make a great gift for anyone who likes painting. Love it!

The MozArt metallic watercolor set is (almost) everything I ever wanted. Here's the one and only reason I would purchase something else, and in fact why I'm getting my mother a different set: it needs a white, a "true" or dark green, and a brown. I'm on the hunt for these colors, and it would cost less to purchase a set that already has them. Now for the upsides: the shine and pigment is absurdly rich and wonderful. It's fairly opaque. It's easy to use. The metal tin is nice, and a nice size. The black AND white labelled swatch sheets included were a thoughtful touch. Here's some nit-picking. It almost feels absurd to mention these, and it wouldn't dissuade me from buying it again. The pans themselves are difficult to pop into & out of the plastic base. This won't be a problem for most people, but could prove frustrating if you like to re-arrange palettes. While I was trying to seat some a little more firmly, I pressed on the dry silver paint block and it shattered! There was a large bubble underneath. Some gentle prodding of the other pans didn't reveal the same issue, so I think it's just a defect, not an insidious plot to reduce product.

I love this set of 24 metallic watercolours so much that I recommended this set to my artist friends! The pans are larger than other brands of metallic watercolours I bought and they can be taken out of the set so you can have the individual colour by itself to work with. I really appreciate the fact that there are both blank white and black colour charts to fill in with the paints to see how each colour interacts on both white and black paper. Any art supply that supplies a blank colour chart or colour charts will get a great rating from me. I have tried these metallic watercolours on all kinds of paper and they are so wonderful! I definitely would buy them again. The price is really great, not too expensive in my opinion and they go a long way. I buy a lot of art supplies so I test all art supplies I buy extensively to find out what I like and don’t like before doing any reviews. I don’t do reviews often because I find that there are a lot of art supplies out there that just don’t do what they are supposed to. With these metallic watercolours, I don’t have anything negative to say about them. I LOVE them! The colours are fantastic! If you want a great sparkly watercolour paint that is reasonably priced and lasts a long time, this is the product for you!

Wow, these are just gorgeous! These are beautiful and go down like Wink Of Stella. Very shimmery metallic. The price is very good and unbelievable for what you get. The pans are large,completely full and will go a long way and they pop out of the case. The color names are kinda wonky but you get both black and white DIY swatches with the names and correspond with the paint pan placement in the case so you can see exactly how the colors look on paper. The case is a very sturdy metal. This is a good choice for anyone wanting beautiful shimmery watercolors. I just bought this today but I can see that I am going to use it alot so I'm going to buy another set right away just to make sure when I run out, I can still have some.

This is a great set of watercolours for a great price! Put a few drops of water onto each colour and let it sit for a few minutes before painting to get the most vibrancy. They look beautiful on both light and dark paper. These are as nice as some more expensive sets I've purchased!

I wasn’t expecting too much from these. The price seemed reasonable, they were pretty; an impulse buy. I swatched them and then used them to highlight letters in matching colours. There was a gluey substance in the water after so they have some kind of coating on them but they are……AWESOME! Everyone wanted to know where I got them! I think there’ll be a run on them. They’re not in normal pans. Maybe you use them up and throw it all away. I know I won’t be doing that!
