There is NO added sugar in these delicious dark chocolate chips; the sweetener is stevia. If you tasted stevia 10 years ago you wouldn't want to try it as a sugar substitute because it had a very herbal aftertaste. There have been great improvements in stevia processing and now when it's used as a sugar substitute in a product, there is virtually no taste difference from refined sugar. I haven't eaten refined sugar, or any other sweetener besides maple syrup, maple sugar and rice syrup for over 30 years, so these chocolate chips are a blessing for my chocoholic-ness. Stevia doesn't raise blood sugar levels, so it's safe for diabetics. Because I'm also allergic to wheat (not just the protein, gluten, but wheat in all forms as well as wheat-derivatives) I make all my own chocolate treats. I use these little morsels in cookies and brownies as well as melted and used as a "frosting" or glaze on chocolate peppermint cookies, fudge brownies and with peppermint extract on crunchy rice cakes. I usually purchase these in 8 oz packages from the natural food store where I work, but there was an interruption in deliveries for about 6 weeks and I panicked that they wouldn't be available for my baking habit. The only difference I found in the 10 lb bulk box and the 8 oz packages was the size. The 10 lb box chips were much smaller than the ones in the packages. Same taste, same most excellent quality, same smooth texture, just as melty in a double boiler, smooth and easy to apply with a thin spatula onto cookies or parchment for little chocolate bites. After cooling and 'set up' the glaze is shiny and professional looking. I highly recommend this brand. And they're good to munch right out of the package too. Got this at discount around Christmas to make chocolates as gifts. It tempered well and has a very robust flavor. To my pallete the 55% is just right to be eaten in small portions. Would buy again

These chocolate chips are expensive but they’re with the extra couple of dollars. Very clean ingredients, and they taste so good!

These minis are just the right size for making chocolate chip cookies. They are 100% cacao so have absolutely no sweetness but pair together perfectly with dates to make a tasty and super healthy cookie. I took off one star because the company won't ship to my address or to a post office box so it's very inconvenient for me to order these. Please expand your shipping options.

These are awesome chocolate chips that have really changed my cookies. I often pass along to friends, colleagues, and neighbors cookies from time to time and I am always confident about the taste when I use these gems to bake with. I like that I know what the ingredients are that we are consuming when I bake, and it is important to use a quality chocolate chip to enhance the flavor.
