Fantastic watercolor brush pens!
As a sketchbook artist, I love these. They are incredibly vibrant and flow so smoothly. There’s minimal bleed and usually only when you really go back and forth and soak it into the page. The color selection is perfect and I find myself using them with multiple layers of other media—acrylic, colored pencil, brush pens, ink, etc. It’s even better knowing you can blend everything together seamlessly with a little water as well. I’m very happy I bought these and have them in my supply kit.

Colors are appealing. Brush quality is you get what you pay. Containers to store them hard to find.
The colors are appealing- as you can see from the image. Note I only use these to color and not free hand art so I cannot comment on their use if you plan to use these for making things to sell. Brush quality--is you get what you pay for situation. So this set came with 96 markers. 3/96 had tips where they were frayed but usable. 6/96 needed to have 1-4 "hairs" removed because 1 came loose and you need to use your finger or tweezers to gently pull it out sometimes you take out a "clump" but the markers are still usable. Conclusion/Storage Comment: I think the set is worth the money. I might have bought the 96 set that came with a case. The package THIS SET order comes in ONLY has a plastic point box and plastic trays which aren't the best to store and use over a long period of time. To remedy the issue, I bought a larger cylinder food container(s) to hold all 96 markers. These markers are very long, 7 inches thereabout, and the marker caps are fatter than the “butt” ends and I store these facing down. If you are very picky with how you'd like to store them, keep that in mind. There are 96 markers here. That's a lot despite them being quite skinny in terms of space you'd need to store them. Personally no case I found with plastic inserts were long enough, and I didn't and don't have space for them to be sticking out of multiple holders. Because there are 96 markers and the cap ends are fatter, finding a container to even hold them in all in ONE was hard, again I had to find a food storage cylinder with an air tight cap worked out fine. Notes: the color of the marker is on the "butt" end and so the markers are stored upside down for me to see which color I am picking. Overall the indicator is usually true to the actual marker's color. I think these are recommended to be storied horizontally, but I have not had any issues. Other reviews have mentioned to be careful when re-capping the markers or you'll damage the brush tips, and I agree. It is true you need to be careful. I'd recommend these for kids 8+ years as long as the kids are careful and so are their friends!

Slightly different with beautiful lay down
These are ink markers. I thought was ordering acrylic markers that are paint pens and at the same time I ordered Arrtx acrylic markers that are acrylic paint. I obviously didn’t read the description but have a set of their pencils and thought I was trying a paint pen from a company I liked (haha). Prepared to return them, but decided to take a look instead Always looking for something new. Turns out I love these markers. They have a very small very precise and very flexible brush tip. The tip takes very slight even pressure to use properly. There are 48 colors that have been selected to represent what you might need in a piece without any color being over or under represented eg there are two browns, one is a deep brown like Prismas chocolate and also a reddish brown like Prismas Sienna brown. Very nice. They do bleed through the page but not to the paper beneath it . Though I suppose with enough repetition or pressure they could. The caps are clear but the opposite end has small dome that fairly accurately represents the color of the ink. I am quite pleased with them and would recommend them without reservation. I think they are fairly priced. I am an amateur to be sure but it is a fun hobby that is actually enhanced by these markers. Their lay down is so smooth and effortless it is hard to put them down.

Interesting, Convenient, and Imperfect
First, these work as a travel watercolor painting kit. It has several open slots for expansion. The colors are nicely saturated such that water diluting offers a wide range of options. The water brush is a bit too high flow, I use a real paint brush for better results. The color can be lifted and pushed around which is really nice. They are actually brushes with an incredibly fine tip. While raw color is more economical, good brushes and color are similarly priced to this kit. However, the case does not stand well, the base is curved. Also, the hook-n-look on one side was incorrectly sown in place. I had to rip it off and sew it in the proper place. Other than that, the case is actually nice. It goes on sale, if the retail price is too high, just wait bit. I highly recommend good watercolor paper. You'll think any watercolor paint is terrible with bad paper.

Perfect for use as described but not for directly replacing watercolors and brushes.
When I bought these Arteza Real Brush Pens I was under the impression that they were able to be used with watercolor art. I saw reviews where the artists were able to add water with a brush and blend the ink like you would do with actual watercolor but it didn't work for me. No matter how thin or thick the line I could never blend it enough to really have a smooth gradient. Once I realized that they weren't what I had expected I began to love them as a way to add more depth of color to my watercolor paintings as well as with colored pencil work that was done using heavy weight paper. The colors are rich and vibrant. The brushes are soft and fluid and the tips are sharp making it simple to fill in very tiny areas of the pictures I am working on. I would not recommend using them for covering large areas of background and they are far to wet to use in most coloring books including the higher quality ones found in most adult coloring books. As watercolor brushes I can't recommend them but when used as a brushed marker which is what they are marketed under they are perfect and are great for creating details. The example picture I am including was done with watercolors but the details such as the text and also the bright Lego were done with the Arteza and you can see how rich the color is compared to watercolor. Clearly I am not an artist but this gives you an idea of what I am trying to describe.

Better than Tombow!
I've purchased quite a few sets of brush or bullet-tip water color markers, including expensive ones like Tombow and & karin, along with Ohuhu and other mid-range brands (I have a thing for watercolor inks!). I like these Arteza ones the best out of all my sets! They have a huge range of colors (although I'd prefer fewer blues and more brown tones), plenty of ink, sturdy brush tips and, most important, virtually every color dissolves in water really well. (for those not familiar: watercolor markers have this characteristic where not every color will dissolve in water & become 'watercolory'....for example, in my Karin set the grey tones just don't react in water...the other colors do but not the greys, other sets have this same issue). All of the Artezas move well in water, they layer & blend fairly well (so far nothing blends & moves as well as actual watercolor paints, the trade off is that watercolor paints don't have the clear vibrancy of watercolor markers, but Artezas are the best of the bunch, imo). And did I mention how many colors they come in??? I love having lots of colors to play with. So if you're in the market for watercolor markers - or if you're not sure they're for you so you don't want to commit a lot of $$ - I highly recommend these markers!! They're not just good markers for the price, they are good, good markers!

Awesome for Dry Brushing!
Edit: I now have a set with pointed brush tips that function beautifully. I must warn that these brush pens may be tricky to use for non-artists/illustrators. If your illustrations need a lot of dry brushing techniques and detail textures, this is for you. They require a lighter touch and calligraphic movements to get the full effects. These brush pens are excellent for my style of realistic illustration. Though I don't like the effects of watering these down, they're great for adding details to watercolor and alcohol marker work. I'd recommend this set to professional illustrators, especially for the fact that it's the largest set of brush pens I've found on Amazon--having 96 colors is really convenient. The art supply industry needs to watch out for the dark horse that is Arteza. Excellent products and excellent service. Original: I have been collecting Arteza supplies for the past year. If you walk into my art studio you'd think I was a loyal fanboy. With that said. I'm disappointed in these brush pens. About 25-30% of the pens had frayed tips, which is a bummer for me because I planned on doing some detail work with these pens. A couple of them had water inside of the caps, which combined with the frayed tips, leads me to believe these may have been used before. However, I did get these for a good price, which kind of makes up for the issues. Unfortunately, I can't just reorder these pens as the price has gone up a lot since I bought it last week. I guess I'll just keep these as a backup collection. This isn't going to stop me from getting more Arteza supplies though.

Amazing Watercolor Paint Pens — Bright, Smooth & Versatile!
I bought the ARTEZA Watercolor Paint Pens (24 set) in 2021, and they still work perfectly. The colors are beautiful, from bright and vibrant to soft and mild tones. None of the pens have dried out, and the ink flow is smooth and consistent. The nib size is perfect — works well for small details, outlining, and also bigger areas. One of the best things is the speed: it’s super easy to cover large areas quickly. The ink dries immediately, yet you can still add layers smoothly without disturbing the base. No bleeding at all, which is a huge plus, especially for clean work and journaling. Best used on smooth paper for best results. These pens are highly functional, easy to control, and very satisfying to use. Perfect for doodles, journals, illustrations, landscapes, cartoons, mandalas, and more. The final outcome always looks great. Highly recommended!

AAmazing richly pigmented brush pens!!! A must have
Well what can I say about these pens? I’m an artist & I usually buy much more expensive pens. However, seeing this particular brand all over the place I thought I would give them a try!! Well they haven’t disappointed me at all. They are richly pigmented! and so clever to use! I use them exactly like a brush & dip the tip in water so that I get a wash & continue to use so that the pigment starts coming through & gets stronger! That way I get an ombré look without having to do any shading work! The pen does it for you! Don’t see these as pens, see them as brushes! I love the packaging too!. As an artist I usually have all my pens, pans, pots & tubes in one place scattered about, so normally they are tipped out of the packaging & it is thrown away, but I bought the whole set, every colour, so I invested in the carry case with them! It’s really the best way to buy them! they are put together in their colour palettes, slotted in, easy to see & easy to keep tidy! The price point on these & all their products is very reasonable for what you get! I’ve bought a few other Arteza products to try out, for which I have reviewed. I have nothing negative to say about this brand whatsoever & will be using them in the future too! I also love their paints, their mixed media & watercolour paper pads, for which I have already reviewed! They also do a great little grey linen bound watercolour book that is sewn bound! It is great! I love all Arteza products, they are now my ‘go to’ brand! I hope my review helps you & if you’re undecided about whether to try Arteza products, ponder no more, just take the leap! You won’t be disappointed!!!

First time trying out Arteza real brush pens, good quality brand, excellent choice of colours. Easy to use, blend well with water colour paper. I received a few damaged pens, when I contacted Arteza their response was quick and sent out a new pack within days. I also purchased Arteza water colour paper excellent quality. Wonderful brush pens, neatly organized....!
These are wonderful pens with very vivid colors. Some of them have a few hairs sticking out, but it's easily remedied with a good pair of scissors! I love the storage bag! This way the pens are not all over the place and can be neatly stored. Other brand brush pens fit too, like Jane Davenport brush pens! I bought another, empty Arteza bag to store them. It really helps to keep my painting supply brushes & thinner marker pens organized! The slots are too small for thicker markers or pens...! I'm very happy with the brush pens & the storage bag & will buy the pens separately to refill the bag!
