This started happening after less than 6 months of light usage. I am certainly not impressed by the quality of this toaster. My old Bodum toaster had the very same problem, so I am really tired of bad quality toasters. How difficult can it really be to build a toaster that works?Update: seller sent me a replacement unit. Unfortunately it was a different model and color, but good customer service.
