Cute book
We liked the illustrations in this book. My kids love cupcakes and looking at the title we thought this book was about cupcakes but found it had a different story line. However, my kids enjoyed reading it.

A cute book
Now this is a book that not only has such a cute story with lovely characters – almost having personalities of their own; but also a book that teaches you a lot of good values and recommended behaviors. The illustrations are very beautifully done around an even better story woven around it. Your child will keep coming back to this!

A Great Big Bake-Off!
Well we were lucky to see that this book was available for free as a Kindle, I was going to buy it anyway. The illustrations are so good that I think it warrants buying in paperback for those that like to hold something.I love the fact that not only is the cover great, but allows a little mystery as to 'what is this story about?'. I like that style of title.. you have everything you need to know... it's about a girl and cupcakes! But you still have mystery and the joy of finding out, when you turn the first pages.Boy (or Girl) , you're in for a treat when you do. Not only is every spread filled with rich colour, but it actually has a great story. Now, normally I'm a fan of rhyme in children's books, but this story proves, that when the words flow right, you don't need it. By sidestepping rhyme, Amanda makes way for true story craft and packs not only a great tale about Ellie's dream (I won't give it away).. but there's place for character development, introduction of other characters.. and finally a visual punchline at the end of the book that is a sweet treat.I'd recommend this to anyone with small children.. and my three year old daughter loves it already.

A fantastic children's book
I loved this story - as did my children. It's a little deeper than your average picture book and, with my editor's head on, I'd love the author to develop this into a chapter book in future as it's so engaging and could definitely be grown even more.As a picture book, it is fantastic, it's got humour, wishes, vibrant illustrations and a twist at the end which is a refreshing change. It isn't written in rhyme, and this goes in this book's favour as the story has more detail as it's not being held back by the author trying to find rhyming words. My children enjoyed it and when we read it the first time they both were upset when we got to the end - they wanted more! I hope we will read more from this author again. It's a lovely book, beautifully illustrated and makes you think about what you wish for...

Be careful what you wish for...
It’s not very often I read a picture book book and i don’t want to it end. I think this would make a great chapter book, so you could really build up the characters and plot. As it is, it’s a charming story. I wont give away the story but it is lovely for bedtime for boys and girls. The illustrations are gorgeous.

Charming
A charming little story, which teaches a valuable lesson that things are not always greener on the other side, be careful what you wish for! I loved how Ellie doesn't give up either she just rethinks her wish which made me laugh! Cute story, & I'm defo trying out the recipe so thanks for that.
