Beautiful music, kind of weird.
First, the movie is about an opera (and behind the scenes). John Malkovich plays himself playing Casanova, in a stylized version of Casanova's life. The movie switches between the opera, and Casanova's life portrayed realistically, in which Malkovich plays Casanova. The costumes are beautiful, the scenery is nice, and it's funny (dry wit). The music is beautiful, but I really wish there were subtitles for the songs! Also, the closed captioning could be better. There were times when it was easy enough to hear what was being said, but it was captioned as indistinct muttering.

Terrific Dialog
I love this film, the script, opera music and staging acting, the costumes, photography are wonderful. I will watch it again if not more. This is a film for people who like the cinema not just for entertainment but for the spirit and mind. Also I really really like the editing !

We found the movie ,opera, funny, even though I don't think it's supposed to be funny. Malcovich plays himself and plays Casanova and another actor plays Malcovich. A lot of confusion, and beautiful music.
