Worth the money
This went on amazingly! My husband was worried it was a lot of money for something that was too difficult to apply and wouldn't look that nice. But it really looks beautiful. I wanted to buy it for our side light ( the long window next to our front door) as I didn't really want curtains, but did want privacy. This film 35" by 72" was more than wide enough but not long enough, our window is around 13" by 80". I planned to use the extra film we had on the width to stick to the bottom of the window where the length didn't quite meet. Here are my tips and instructions for anyone wondering how to apply it.What you will need; Lint free cloth ( I used coffee filters), window cleaner, scissors, pencil, Stanley knife, squirt bottle with dish detergent and water in, squeegee (ncluded) and the film (included).1) First I cleaned the window with Windex and coffee filters. I used coffee filters because they are lint free (doesn't leave dust). I cleaned the inside and outside of the window a couple of times until it was sparkling.2) We measured the window and added a half inch width ways to make sure there was enough film and plenty left over to cover the window going across. We planned to just trim the excess after it was applied with a knife. Length wise it was too short for the window which I was expecting but I would have done the same with the length. We marked the width with a pencil (window was 13" across so trimmed it to 13.5) and cut it with scissors trying to be as straight as possible. It didn't matter if it wasn't perfect as this was the "excess half inch" that we were planning to trim anyways. TIP: Cutting the excess off the film once it was applied was the hardest part of the whole process so I would recommend you try to make it as exact as possible with just a tiny bit of excess. If we did it again I would have left 1/4 of an inch.2) I bought a pump bottle from Home Depot for a dollar and filled it was dish detergent and warm water. Use only a few squeezes of the dish detergent in the water as I read that too much makes the window streaky. I sprayed it all over the window until it was soaking wet. The idea is to make the window so wet that when you apply the film it can move around easily and is easy to position. We covered that thing in water!TIP: Apply the film between 4pm and 9pm. The optimum temperature is in the late 40's early 50's to ensure glass is not too cold or hot.3) My husband held the trimmed film while I peeled the bottom off and he applied it to the window. It was very easy to position and slippery as we had drenched the window before. We shuffled it around a lot, moved it here and there until we were satisfied with it.4) We then sprayed the film, now it was on the window, with more soapy water and used the squeegee from left to right to get the bubbles out. We covered the film in soap water because the squeegee went over a lot smoother and it was nice and slippery. Make sure you hold the film in place with your other hand.TIP: Once you have all the bubbles out, keep an eye on the film for 10 mins, smaller ones will develop and just squeegee them out. That should be the last few bubbles you see.5) We measured the last section of the window it wasn't long enough for and cut the film leftovers the same as we did previously. There was a pane on the outside of the window so the seam, where the original film meets the additional is completely invisible and covered by the pane. Even on the inside. Oddly enough the pattern matched up too.Overall this was a lot easier than I was expecting. We did it together but I would say one person can do it easily, assuming its not a giant window. Just make sure you have all the apparatus I listed within close proximity. The hardest part was not the getting the bubbles out or the application, it was using the knife to cut the excess off and to trim it. It is fairly thick which is what makes the application so easy, but makes cutting it hard.EDIT: Three weeks later. I saw a "spot" of dirt in between the window and film (darn!) I took a chance and unpeeled the corner to remove the dirt and it went straight back on - no issues at all (have the squeegee at hand!)

Great Window Treatment Offering a Little Extra Privacy
I used this window film on a large glass pane on the balcony door of my apartment. Since the door faces the street, I really wanted some way to get a bit of privacy while still letting in the light, and this film has worked really well. It's fairly simple to install, and it looks really good. Just be sure to check out reviews of the other popular Artscape films, as a number of reviewers have posted a lot of helpful tips that apply to any of these films. After installing it myself, here are a couple things I learned that you might want to keep in mind:- The film looks the best if you can use only one piece per section of glass. Since my window was pretty large (about 2.5 feet by over 5 feet), I thought it might be easier to use two pieces of film and just match up the two sections. However, this is really hard to get right, and you can easily see the break in the pattern if you're near the window. Using one large piece of film was kind of unwieldy, and I needed someone to help me put it up, but the end result looks much better.- Install the film in the afternoon. I installed mine in the morning, and I worked on getting air bubbles out for quite a while. (I followed the advice of one of the other reviewers, and I worked out from the center with the squeegee, spraying over the film with lots of slightly soapy water.) I thought I had done a great job until I looked at the film again that evening. It still looked pretty good, but in the dark I was able to see a lot of little bubbles near the edges that I hadn't noticed in the daylight—and I had been looking closely during the day. It's certainly not the end of the world, and I can't even see them unless I'm standing right next to the window at night, but it was an annoying discovery.I hope that helps some of you future buyers!

Easy to apply
Beautiful, easy to apply, and great for security. I get complements on the doors all the time, people think it’s actually etched glass. Amazing!

Looks good
Accomplished exactly what we wanted...a pain to "install"...suggest patience and, perhaps, assistance from someone with a sense of humor.

Applies like window tint, no adhesive
We used it on a sidelight next to a front door to add a little privacy. It looks really nice up, but I am concerned with the no adhesive method. It applies with soapy water and you have to fidget to get it on right. It didn't lay flat which made it a little tricky and you couldn't get the paper wet while trying to unroll it cut it to size and get it on. Ours was larger so it was really a 2 person job. I think it was a little expensive for the amount of product you get.

Lovely, easy, effective
I put this on my bedroom windows. I am not a drape person. One day I was pitching a fit because my darn frig always looks dirty. I wipe down...anyway I got the idea to buy a roll and put it on my "Stainful" steel appliances. Wow. It is amazing. I am no longer a slave to the misnamed finish on my frig. It has been up for a year and I still love it. Measure carefully and follow the direction and it is better than sliced bread. I wonder if it would stick to my husband. Hummm.
