Sharp wit, angsty emotions and sweetest feelings created a swoonworthy love story.
Staci Hart's writing can melt your heart and pierce it painfully at the same time. Her stories are unique. The characters are ideally not so ideal with quirks and weird awesomeness. Coming Up Roses was the same. She combined sharp wit, angsty emotions and sweetest feelings to create this swoonworthy love story.Staci Hart can make each book an adventure, a learning experience and a treat for my soul. Like this book. I want to learn all about Floristry now! Set in a historical florist run by the Bennetts for generations now, Coming Up Roses is about first love, second chance and HEA. Tess, the florist and basically manager of The Longbourne, lives a predictable and boring life of safety and routines. But Luke Bennett lives life like a thrilling adventure. He doesn't settle, doesn't committ and doesn't plan. For a planner like Tess, working with him is a nightmare. Well other than the forgotten kiss that has been breaking her heart forever. Luke is back to help his mom and she has to endure him. And somewhere down the line while working as a team to restore the glory of the Longbourne, they realise that they have been wrong about each other. And right at that moment, the past strikes. Can they move on from the wreck? The book has three lead characters. Luke, Tess and the flower shop. I am in love with Luke. I am in love with his free soul with deeply rooted care and kindness. He is actually very protective, helping and caring behind the easy going , wild and unpredictable facade. And Tess is the beautiful, soft and creative soul who craves some stability in life due to her early life. She soothes the wander lust and restlessness in Luke. She is home for him and makes him want to build a life around her. And Luke makes her alive and adventurous and fills her life with bright colours. The chemistry was amazing. And it was so incredible to read how the flower shop brought them together. The slow burn romance with the heartbreak at right place was brilliant. They complete each other and even though the challenges exposed their vulnerabilities, they found their way back to each other. I loved the Bennett family with their unique personality and now I need a book for each of them!In Coming Up Roses, Staci Hart mixed witty sarcasm with intense emotions. She put family love right along with friends-to-lovers romance. The writing was heartwarming and enticing. It was an all out feel good romance with just the right amount of heartache and angst to give it the extra edge. There is absolutely nothing that I did not love about this story!Received ARC for Honest Review

Really enjoyable romance
Coming Up Roses is a super cute romance, following Tess and Luke as they try to rebrand Luke's family's flower shop.Luke returns home from LA after a messy marriage and wants to start afresh while helping his family. Not only is Luke pulled into the mix of saving the flower shop but so are all the Bennet siblings, all five of them. It is pure chaos. Even grown adults still act like children when they're back home and it just makes the book that much funnier.Tess doesn't know if she can trust Luke with even delivering flowers since he's never held onto a job longer than 6 months and constantly jumps around, but she can't help the fact that he was her childhood crush. I love how Tess and Luke first get introduced, you dive straight into the story - which I appreciate when it comes to a book like this and their romance made me smile throughout. All the characters are entertaining and I cannot wait to see what happens with the other Bennet siblings. There was just something missing that I cant put my finger on but I needed something else to happen because kept zoning out fo the story. Not because it was horrible but because it was predictable. I really enjoyed the characters and the story but I could have done with more.

3.5 stars
Luke has moved back to New York to help his family’s struggling flower shop. The first day he walks in, he sees his old fling, Ivy, bent over in the cooler, so he jokingly gropes her by way of greeting. Only it’s not Ivy at all. It’s Tess. Tess, who has worked at his family’s shop since she was a teenager. Tess, who was once his friend but now only views him with disdain.Tess knew Luke was coming home but hoped to be able to avoid him as much as possible. Much to her dismay, she’s never gotten over the fact that they once kissed, and he didn’t even remember the next day. She tries to remind herself that they were kids, it’s was a long time ago, she needs to let it go…but she just can’t. So one night, in the middle of a disagreement, she blurts out that her anger over the last so many years has been because of their forgotten kiss. Luke is dismayed that he could’ve forgotten something like that so kisses her (of course) and suddenly the drunken hazy memories come roaring back. From this point on they get on like a house on fire, their chemistry is certainly likely to combust, and they find that they make an incredible team. But will Tess’s carefully guarded heart ruin things? Will Luke’s flakey nature and seemingly crazy ex-wife be the catalyst for their ending? This book was super cute. I love the dynamic of the whole Bennet family! Their banter, their love for each other (especially their mum), and their dedication to fixing the business. The whole Wendy situation was frustrating as hell. One the one hand I could understand Luke’s predicament but at the same time I was shouting “nooooo, Luke! Don’t you do it!!!” Stressful times. All in all it was cute, a little spicy, and a lot sweet.

Disappointed
It was clearly so far away from the charm of anything to do with Jane Austen, that out of respect I stopped reading this book shortly after I started. Cheap character lines were appearing. If I am wrong I apologize, but it was going down the wrong road, and too early.

Adored it!
Absolutely adored this book - Staci Hart never lets me down! Loveable characters that you can relate to - this gang was hilarious. Luke and Tess were adorable, sexy and even had me in tears towards the end. A proper journey of a book - can't wait to read others in the series x

Could have been....
Inspired by Jane Austin- I think not! The Austin version was literature, this not so much. The beauty of the original is that the reader uses their imagination- not every move is spelt out in graphic boring detail.
