I was surprised and a little happy when I discovered this green Deluxe version of the original. First thought in my head was, this looks nice and big.I purchased it immediately. Well, almost immediately. Contacted BBP directly about some minor spec details on the Deluxe and Nigel who I dealt with last time, over 2 years ago, responded right away. Ordered through amazon, got it a few days later, and started using it.This green thing was going to be the new home for some of the lenses that are not in my everyday bag or older lenses. No longer will my lenses be stored in an old amazon box with something soft on the bottom to cushion any bumps. This Camera Insert has room for 6 lenses. The padding is thicker at 3/8" versus what I believe is 1/4" in the yellow original. More cushioning is good. Outside and inside is covered in felt.I have been using it for over a month now and I have to say that it does what it does. It is a Camera Paddy Insert and it is a deluxe version. It can store more items than the original and has that extra cushion. Depending on that lenses you store in there, it could be a tight fit or a loose fit. If you have a small lenses or your collection is of the mirrorless type, you will have room and if moving the insert, the lens will move around. If you have a lot of mirrorless lenses you might be able to fit 8 lenses if there was another divider. If you have short prime lenses, you could possible stack them on top of each other and put 2 in each slot. The possibilities are really endless. Too bad BBP does not offer additional pads for purchase.This thing is also great in my medium timbuk2 messenger bag. It fits better than the original. It is a couple inches shorter, but fills out the bag better and holds more (if you need it that day). It is shorter because there is no longer any space to store above the inserts. I wish that BBP included the mesh pockets on the underside of the flap for extra memory or batteries. I am worried about the felt fabric material used throughout the product. In the original the outside was made of durable rip-stop nylon. Felt is great for the inside, but I feel like the outside should have been nylon. Felt just collects fine dust and can get wet easier. I feel that the cover flap is also half an inch too short. It uses a little Velcro tab to securely close the insert, but even when closed there is still a gap which allows dust to enter the 3 outer compartments. The tab is just a piece of Velcro cut with scissors and wasn't straight on mine, but had a curve. They either couldn't cut straight or was it on purpose, who knows.Like I said earlier, I am using this to store my home lenses that don't get much use. I am going to make little pieces of padding to store more and expand this bad boy. It has a lot of potential with just a few minor annoyances. I am thinking 10 can be stored safely. My suggestions are to make the flap a little longer, more durable exterior and options for more compartment inserts.The thicker padding and extra room make this thing worthwhile. Take out the inserts and you can store almost anything. At the time of this writing, both the original and the deluxe are both $30 (I paid $35 for the deluxe) so at least people have more options which are always good.Will update in future if needed... ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Turns my favorite OGIO backpack into my favorite casual camera bag *by B***I on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on January 31, 2015* I use this insert with a large OGIO backpack (about 14" wide at the bottom) with a large front compartment and a back partition for the laptop. This does not hold all my gears. If I need most of my gears I would use my Tamrac 612 Pro which holds 2 full-sized DSLR with grips, 4 lenses and accessories (it's a nice bag also). However, if I just want something light for the week, with one camera and a couple of lenses, this is perfect. I find myself using this backpack much more often than the full-sized bag.The converted OGIO is super strong, has many partitions, and it's much more inconspicuous than a regular camera backpack. Plus, unlike a camera bag, it has enough room to hold other "stuff" because the insert fills up just the bottom half of the large compartment - gifts we pick up while traveling, kids' light jackets, etc. The color is wonderful because of its nice contrast with mostly-black equipment. The foam is very thick and protects my equipment just fine.If you have a large backpack you like and trust, this insert it a great camera backpack. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ True to form! *by R***. on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on June 25, 2014* I wanted to bring my kit on the airplane with another 50lbs. of stuff but only one of my Oakley backpacks was up to the task. There were other brands that were more expensive and of shallower depth. If you shoot with the big lenses then you know how much fun it is trying to stuff your kit into one bag. This thing fit 5 lenses, including two 82's and and a 6" 75-500, 8 double-A's, two chargers, a monster-flash and my cable. So the DSLR didn't fit with all the other stuff but go big or go home. Better yet, just wrap the camera in a soft sweat-shirt and with the insert underneath you are still 100% protected.Good quality, good price, good service.
