The Cure for What Ales You: A Sloan Krause Mystery

great addition to a wonderful series
I really enjoy this series particularly the setting in Leavenworth and all the details about beer and brewing. Interwoven with mystery and some mayhem, it really makes for a compelling read. The characters are well-developed and I feel as if I know them all and share their lives. Always looking forward to the next installment. And I really want to visit this German themed town soon.

The cure for what ales you
It had a good story line but it just seemed to go slowly. I learned a lot about how to make beer and drink it.

Enticing Cozy
The Sloan Krause series is hard to resist. The heroine is tough yet has a vulnerable side. She's smart, loves her son, and enjoys working in a microbrewery. She also has a troubled past -- foster homes, and a mysterious start to life. That plays a minor-major role in various books along with a current murder or two. This book contains both -- a current murder in the town of Leavenworth, Washington, and people from Sloan's past crashing through her life. It's an exciting mystery. Readers of the series will love it. If you haven't read the books from the beginning, I suggest you start with an earlier one. For me, this isn't a stand-alone story. The book "escaped" five stars because of two reasons: There's a kidnapping. It involves someone close to Sloan. She tries to figure out where that victim would go. Since when does a kidnap victim decide on where he/she will go? Didn't ring at all. And the book went on for a couple of chapters too long. Yes, the author wanted to add an important note to the story, but it should've been inserted earlier. I hope there's another book in this series. Sloan and Co. deserve it -- so do the readers!

Drama and mystery in Sloane's world
I really enjoy this series, the beer talk, the sense of community and the great characters. Sloane has had a lot of changes in her life with her divorce, new job and now a move to town. When more of her past suddenly being revealed and then a murder, will she ever get answers? Is she in danger, is Alex, her whole future seems to hang in the balance, can Sloane find answers, can she fine true happiness? Definitely worth investing your time to find out!!!

It feels like an end to this series
I've enjoyed the theme of the Sloan Krause mysteries. This one felt like the author was trying a bit too hard to tie up any potential loose threads and was a bit disjointed as a result. The Forest element was a little "out there." But I always enjoy the brewing science aspect and watching Sloan come into her own.

Ties together a lot of multi-book plot points
You should only read this book after reading the others in this series. Then you will know and love the characters and you will absolutely ADORE this book.Ms. Alexander is a master at creating a sense of place and once again I felt like I was taking a trip to the Little Bavaria that is Leavenworth, Oregon. Since it is a real place I am trying to figure out if I would like to visit it or if I would be too disappointed by not being able to visit Nitro!

Very intriguing series
I thoroughly enjoyed following this series from book one to book five. It kept me interested in what would happen next with each murder in each book, but more so in learning about Sloan’s past. Enjoy!
