Triple Threat: Deception Duet, Book 1

Unexpected and triple the fun!
Oh K Webster- you clever, clever girl. Triple Threat is a dark and delicious treat. Yet again K Webster has taken her wand and worked her magic- this time taking the infamous Terror Triplets from her fantastic Cinderlla trilogy and transforming them into leading men. And what fun it is- Triple Threat is unexpected, unique, and highly entertaining. Another addictive page turner from the queen of the twisted and taboo.Truth be told, I was apprehensive going into this story. Just how was K Webster going to get us behind this vile trip that harmed the heroine in the Cinderella trilogy. How would she redeem the terror triplets? And the brilliant thing is, she doesn’t. Oh no. K Webster lets them sparkle as the ruthless, twisted, and petulant villains we first met. No heroes here. Only difference? She makes us love them. With deft hand, K Webster gives these once two dimensional secondary villains a whole gambit of complexity. She somehow maintains their tyrannical nature while also making us better understand just how they came to be who they are. She makes no apologies for their past transgressions, in past, in some cases, she deliciously digs into them- and she makes no excuses. But she does give them so much substance that we find ourselves intoxicated by the terror triplets. They are magnetic, electrifying, DELICIOUS. We find ourselves so much more than perversely intrigued by them. We find ourselves empathizing for them. Dare I say, rooting for them. All while they are still villains. That, dear reader, is the magic of clever writing, and the dark and fearless mind of K Webster. Before we just knew the triplets as a unit- a conniving, envious, cutthroat trio. But Triple Threat helps us see them as individuals. Sully, Scout, and Sparrow- each with their own traits and nuances, each with their own moral compass and needs. Each uniquely interesting, with their own baggage. We met them again in the aftermath of their disastrous attempt to harm their stepsister- not only are they disgraced and reviled, but they’ve also found themselves indentured to the megalomaniac Bryant Morelli. Their arrangement is constricting but has it’s perks- he keeps them in their lavish environment while the triplets serve him in the never ending vendetta with the Constantines. But their latest task is quite unique- to prey upon the innocent princess in the tower, Landy Croft- the billionaire’s daughter.I’ll admit this story started a bit slowly for me- in part because we needed to take times to get to know the triplets, and in part because I wasn’t yet sure I could invest in them. But the Midnight Dynasty world is full of anti-heroes who’ve all done horrible things to teach other, and somehow despite my love for Ash and Winston, I was able to find the beating hearts of these messed up kids. A theme that has played out brilliantly in this entire series is the tension of nature and nurture- how the treachery of their parents and the violence of their familial feuds and the associated traumas all of the MD characters have faced have caused characters to bury their goodness. Time and again, we see it dawn in the wake of new connections- and the terror triplets are such a beautiful articulation of these theme. Shaped, and still being shaped, by their environment, but when confronted with their connection with the unexpected Landry, the buried parts of themselves emerged- some swoony, and some quite dangerous. The second half of this story was freaking amazing- and K Webster gets some serious credit for playing with a plotline rarely seen in romance, but one so perfectly executed here. The triplets all start to standout as really distinct characters, and I love how easily Landry sees them. I’m desperate to learn more about the more volatile one, Scout, but currently I’m most compelled by Sparrow- his combination of witty charm with effortless chemistry with Landry had me thirsting for his POVs. And Landry is a brilliant heroine- K Webster has given us a leading lady who has enough vulnerability and naivete to be truly at risk with these crazy triplets while also giving her an inner courage and self-assuredness to be able to go to toe-to-toe with not one but THREE K Webster anti-heroes. I really loved her contrasts and substance - and her devotion to her scene-stealing baby sister stole my heart. Her chemistry with the guys is really well done- K Webster finds a way to create a different emotional connection with each of the guys. (and given the storyline, this adds for some great tension and a dash of humor)Of course, just when it starts to get juicy and super steamy and feelings start to get more complicated, we careen towards a cliffhanger. An outcome we all predicted but with a little twist that made it feel fresh. All I can say is I am hard core team terror triplet after reading this, and I can’t wait for more!

I didn't expect to love them so much!!!
✨Top Read of 2022!!!✨WHAT A WAY TO START THE YEAR!!! FIRST BOOK OF THE YEAR AND IT IS EVERYTHING!!!Well.... that was unexpected! If you read the Cinderella trilogy then you know who the Terror Triplets are..... THIS IS THIER STORY!!! And boy it is a doosey! Basically the 3 guys have to play the part of the same guy in different situations with Landry (the h of the story). Problem is all 3 of them are super possessive and competitive (especially with each other). So we all can imagine the recipe for disaster that creates!Holy hotness! K Webster brought on the heat in a very K Webster fashion. To the point where I was questioning my morals and, to be perfectly honest, felt a little dirty 😏 but in a really good way! This story does end on a cliffhanger, so be prepared to get angry! The worst thing about cliffhangers is that then my brain goes crazy trying to think of all the possibilities! (Which I am doing as I type this out) I didn't like Sully, Sparrow and Scout from the Cinderella trilogy. I am still not the biggest fan of Scout. The other 2 have grown on me and I am DYING to find out what happens next!!!Story 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟Spice 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥Swoon 😍😍😍Angst 💔💔💔💔💔

Twisted goodness!!!
OH. MY. GOD!!! Ever since I met the terror triplets in the Cinderella trilogy, I wanted their story because I knew it had to be a good one. They were straight up twisted bullies and bully stories are my jam (only in books not irl).K. Webster is not disappointing me. Triple Treat had me on the edge my seat. It is action packed and twisted AF. I think, and can guess, more twisted than we know yet.Scout, Sully and Sparrow all bring their own twists and personalities to the story and how they interact with poor Landry. He father is a monster, that she needs to get away from. She just might have traded one monster for three monsters because holy Moses that cliffhanger!!!!!

Well, that was unexpected🤯🥵
K. Webster is the QUEEN of facing adversity and challenge in the face and come out laughing I'm the end. Only Webster can turn these three pain in @$$ triplets into charcters that make us back up for a second look after writing them off in the Cinderella Trilogy. She always finds a way to make the reader fall in love with the villain, or in this case villains, every time. The heat is intense as these three are tasked with preying on Landry. It's fun watching the story unfold as Landry catches on to each of their unique characteristics that make them stand out as individuals. Each book in the Midnight Dynasty world continues to remind me why I love a good anti-hero.

The Triplets are Back!
Ohhh after reading the Cinderella trilogy, it was amazing to see the triplet’s story unfold. I LOVE seeing the similar, yet different thought processes of each man, particularly in regard to Landry.Landry and her deaf sister are trapped with their abusive, controlling father. When Ford (the triplets in disguise) enters her life and offers her something salacious and off-limits, she gets dragged into their deliciously sinister world. This book ends on an amazing cliffhanger - looking forward to the second half of this duet!

I need more asap
K. Webster has done it again. This book blew my mind and left me begging for more. It’s a reverse harem but with a twist.Landry is the type of girl I would want as my best friend. She's tough as nails and will do anything to protect the people she loves, especially her adorable little sister.Sully, Sparrow, and Scout are triplets and introduced to readers in Webster's Cinderella trilogy as the evil stepbrothers. In this story, readers get a more personal side to the triplets that's a little less evil.Out of the three, Scout is my favorite. His evil reaches psychopathic levels, and I’m obsessed. There are a lot of layers to this story, so to get the full effect, I highly recommend reading the previous trilogy first.

The second part of this duet can’t come soon enough for me.
Loved these three bad boys!Landry can’t see an end to the nightmare she and her sister are living…Sparrow, Sully and Scout want to be free of the hold their uncle has over them. Completing this job could be the key to their freedom…The title alone had me dying to read this book. Not just one threat, but a TRIPLE THREAT. This story had me captivated from start to finish. I didn’t even want to blink in case I missed something. SO GOOD!

Intriguing Read
I am reading a K Webster book after a long time but this book got me hooked to her writing all over again.Characters were fleshed out well The settings involving the ever present feud between Constantine and Morelli"s was captivating especially with the whole Craft's family thrown into the mix. I enjoyed reading about the triplets and now starkly different their personalities were and yet the traits they shared in common also stood out. The dynamics and their banters were the parts I enjoyed the most. But i didn't like Landry all that much. There was nothing about her that particular stood out to me especially for these three to go so crazy, obsessive about her. She was tame compared to the others - resilient yes but not too smart or brave and for the most part - confused. I also felt that K Webster was holding back from making this book too dark. She teases some dark elements but didn't really go that far, leaving most to our interpretation which is so unlike her. Till date 'this is war, baby' is one of my fav books and it'sbecause of her showing no refrain and making it dark, delicious and tempting. I wish the sequel to this is more dark and also upps the stakes. But this one did get me interested to read Ash's story despite knowing how it ends.

Just Okay But Has Promise
I don’t know, I was super pumped to read this and it turned out to be kind of boring. The only twin with a real personality is the evil one and the other two just kind of blend together. The whole thing was kind of blah but it definitely has promise so I’ll read the next one when it comes out.
