The fur around the wrist is thick, warm and plush. The buckle around the wrist is adjustable so you can loosen or tighten it around your wrist. This is what makes the gloves so warm, because when it is tightened the cold air does not come through. To top it all off, there is a silky/satiny bag for storing the gloves when you need to put them away for the summer. I am 5'3" and 179 pounds and the XL fit well.
