They functioned adequately but we did have a few that were cracked/split and unsuitable to use. They held up fairly well and I am not aware of anyone loosing their food, but when fully loaded with food you have to carry them in the palm of your hand and not by the edge as they just did not seem sturdy enough. Would I buy again? We decided to go ahead and wash these instead of just throwing them out and with having someone on hand doing the drying, no bubbling up or weakness in the plates, so I think we might even get a few more uses out of these. Not only are they durable and reusable, it makes me feel good knowing I'm doing something for the environment.
