Small Parts 18-8 Stainless Steel Fully Threaded Rod, 3/8"-16 Thread Size, 36" Length, Right Hand Threads

The threads were excellent across its entire length. No burrs or dents from handling. The ends had no damage and nuts screwed on perfectly. I cut it to length for my needs with a hacksaw. After a couple of months (Inside) there is no rust evident even on the cut ends. An excellent product!

18-8 thread, stainless steel rod. Wow this is much better quality than I was expecting. I tend to use a bit of stainless steel for my projects. Have blades for my reciprocating saw ( Saws All ) designed to cut Stainless steel. This rod is such high quality, when cutting to length for my project, it took two of those blades to cut through the threaded rod ( not unusual when dealing with the good stuff ). The threads are cut from end to end. Ends are machined smooth. Threads are true to size. No slop in nuts, as if cut if between SAE and Metric, these are EXACTLY cut to 18-8 nice and tight. Had a piece left over. Tried to bend it. Took some effort. Rod bent, did not break. Wow ... over kill for my project. Thinking will last well over 100 yrs. Threads will stay clean and completely usable. NOTE *** with Stainless steel, the edges of threads may gall ( bend over ), use milk of magnesium ( yes same stuff one might use for upset stomach) , or anti sieze, on your threads, bolts and nuts. Turn the bolts slowly and make sure are not cross threading. This is with EVERY stainless steel bolt, screw, nuts. If threads ( ramps ) on bolt gall, they will cause the nut to bind, maybe midway to being fully tightened, especially with low grade stainless steel products from Big Box hardware stores. Use a dry lube or anti seize .. look on line for more info.

I needed 2 24" rods for a 3D printer modification but ended up buying 2 of this one simply because it was a fraction of the cost. Used my trusty hack saw and cut them down to size. The hex nuts I bought here are Amazon screwed on easily. This worked perfectly to stabilize my z axis. I highly recommend this rod. The packaging was pretty impressive as well, item arrived without it being bent.

Excellent product! Clean threads, straight, shipped in sturdy plastic tubes to protect the threads. These ARE stainless steel, contrary to what some reviewers are saying. Magnets will stick to many stainless steels. 304 Stainless steel (18-8) is somewhat darker than zinc-plated steel, and has a VERY slight brownish tint to it, barely noticeable. I think 316 is the same in appearance, but I'm not sure. Or at least that has been my experience with cable and hardware - I haven't noticed it with stainless steel sheet. If it weren't stainless it would be plain steel with a zinc plating, typically a bright silver with a very slight bluish tint. The blue is more apparent on zinc-plated bolts, which are also available with a higher-grade gold-colored zinc plating, like G70 transport chain. Either way, it would be magnetic! And if it were plain steel with no plating it would be slightly dull, although just as dark as stainless, and it would most likely have a film of oil to protect against rust in storage. Chrome-plated steel is a brilliant silver with no tint, as well as I can remember. I don't think I've ever seen chrome-plated all-thread, though.

Half the price of anywhere else you could possibly find this proudly to. Much better quality than I expected and shipped in protective plastic tubes. The caps did fall out in shipping. Only thing that could have been an improvement is tape on the caps. I’m my case the rods were still in perfect condition but had this been one of the many careless delivery drivers, the rods could have been damaged when the caps fell off. Five stars all the way.

I am absolutely impressed with the quality and value of this threaded rod. It worked perfectly for my application. Limitless possible uses. Highly recommend.

like it using it for my boat

Perfect for the Marine application I used it on.

I have a telescope mount that fits on a photo tripod using a 3/8" stud but stud was too short and when used with a pier it wont work. I was looking for a longer 15-18" threaded bar but couldnt find any. This seems like the closest fit. it work on my setup like a charm. I am able to fit this from the bottom of the mount, through the 21" pier into the mount base. I havent figured out what to do with extra 18" length but probably I will cut it in half and use both on different setups. The bar is made up of steel and looks and feels very strong and well made.
