Nice reliable waterproof phone protection
After drowning my old phone when jumping in the lake to save my son, I decided that a waterproof pouch for my new phone was in order. I did a lot of research, and eventually decided on this case. I got it about a month ago, and I love it! We are very outdoorsy, and I love being able to take my phone with us without worrying now when we go kayaking, to the beach, offroading, hiking (in the rain), or even in the pool.I did the waterproof test when I got the case, and it didn't have any leaks after being completely submerged for a half hour, so I felt confident taking it along with us for any of our watery activities. So far, its been great, and I haven't had any moisture leak in at all.The plastic was thicker than I expected, but still very clear. I was particularly excited that I could take pictures through the plastic case without having to remove my phone. As long as you make sure the plastic is against (or close to) the camera lens on the phone, the pictures come out clearly, with no distortion. When I didn't have the plastic up against the lens, the pictures were not quite as clear, and had a sort of golden-y quality to them. The picture quality while in the case isn't perfect, but its pretty close. Definitely good enough quality to print or share. I'm including a picture that we took through the case while kayaking on a cloudy day two weeks ago.The rest of the case seemed to be pretty good quality too. The top of the case fit together nicely and sealed easily. The lanyard was nice, and the clip seems sturdy. One of my favorite parts of this case was that with the air inside the case, it floats if you drop it in the water. This seemed particularly comforting when out on the deep water of the lake. A slip of the fingers when passing the case would not result in my phone (and case) being taken to a watery grave. I was quite thankful for this feature. After proving itself for three weeks under a variety of conditions, it worked so well that we ordered another one for my husband's phone, too. I'm happy to report that his is also working well. I'm very happy with this product, and would definitely recommend it if you're looking for waterproof protection for your phone.

Works like a Charm …
Other than standard precautions, I’d not given much thought to water-proofing my iPhone. A summer trip to Busch Gardens (where several rides involve getting drenched) forced me to spot purchase a waterproof phone pouch at the park. While the pouch got the job done, it was rather expensive, cumbersome to use and the plastic bag was blue (meaning I had to remove the phone from the pouch to take pictures). Following this experience, I purchased a KONA SUBMARINER before our next vacation destiny. The SUBMARINER proved its value by working perfectly and resolving all issues I experienced with my more expensive “blue pouch”: it was easy to use, well-designed and secure. The clear plastic pouch allowed me to take perfect pictures without having to remove my phone.WHAT IT IS:A clear plastic sleeve designed to waterproof an iPhone 6 (or similarly sized phones) to a maximum depth of 100 ft. There is a larger sized case available for larger phones. The sleeve/pouch is clear plastic that is heat sealed … the top of the pouch has a “Ziplock-like” closure that is secured by a clamping mechanism that is locked by twisting two levers. A convenient lanyard is attached to the clamp.WHY I LIKE THIS CASE:- Peace of Mind. I was a little nervous about dunking my phone in water for the first time, but I followed the instructions by sealing a folded paper towel in the case and keeping it submerged for several minutes to ensure the case was properly sealed. This is a critical step as it is an easy way to test the integrity of the pouch and ensure there are no defects BEFORE you insert your phone.- You can use your phone as normal when in this case: answer calls, take pictures/videos, play games, etc.- The plastic is crystal clear and does not interfere with the clarity of photos take when the phone is enclosed in the case.- The more I used the case, the more confident I became with its ability to protect my phone and was using it “worry-free” in short-order.- I have an iPhone 6 with an Otterbox Defender Case … KONA states it will accommodate such a set up and although the fit was snug, CAREFULLY inserting and removing the phone did not cause any stress to the pouch/sleeve seams. You should be able to tell whether potential damage is being done to the case when inserting/removing the phone. A snug fit is fine, but if you feel you are forcing the phone in the sleeve, STOP … you may need the bigger SUBMARINER case. The issue may be because your standard phone case is too big.- The clamping mechanism at the top is solid and well-designed to ensure a secure air-tight seal. It is important to note that the case does not enable the phone to float … make sure you use the lanyard.I’ve seen reviews of people ruining their phones and blaming it on the case. From my personal experience with this case, I don’t see how this is possible if the case is tested (as instructed by the manufacturer) and common-sense is used when inserting and removing the phone (when carelessness or forcing a phone that obviously won’t fit may result in the seam being stressed or torn). I actually advise using the paper towel test before each use … better safe than sorry.I found the cost/performance of the SUBMARINER to be quite a value. Being able to take pictures and videos underwater for the first time gave me an entirely new angle of documenting our summer vacation. A great case.

Great for short time use
I took this with me to the Galapagos where I was constantly hiking and snorkelling - pretty durable, unfortunately you have to take photos by pressing the volume button on your phone as the touch screen doesn't work under water with the water pressing against the plastic casing. Don't bother trying to take photos, just stick to video. It's no go-pro, obviously, but it was the perfect solution on a budget

Cool invention!
I can't believe this actually works, but it does. Can't take pics while under water but it definitely keeps the water out. Can take pics above water from inside the case though. Awesome!
