The soap has a slight "rotten egg" smell to it, but it does leave your skin feeling clean!
I have very oily skin. It's to the point that in the middle of the day, I need to blot my entire face to get refreshed. I typically use Origins natural skin care products, but since I get adult acne, I have to incorporate a 7% benzoyl peroxide gel on my face after cleaning and toning. This typically works out for me, but on the weeks when I encounter more stress, I sometimes break out and need additional help. I usually look for some sort of salicylic acid solution to target any new breakouts, and I find it helps get me back on track. For my latest breakout, I did some research on Amazon.com and found the 10% sulfur/3% salicylic acid bar soap from DermaHarmony. The 3% salicylic acid is why I initally came, but the 10% sulfur intrigued me further. I have never used sulfur in an everyday skin product, but apparently it's been used for thousands of years for problematic skin conditions like acne and excessive oil. I decided to give it a go. When the bar first arrived, I opened up the packaging and gave it a smell. It did have a light "rotten egg" aroma to it because of the sulfur, but it wasn't overbearing. I used warm water and lathered it up. I gently massaged my face and body with the suds and left it on for a few minutes (they say to keep it on for at least 1-minute). After rinsing it off, there was a noticeable difference in how clean my skin felt. Afterwards, I dried my face, and continued with my regimen of toning, applying benzoyl peroxide, and moisturizer. For the regular user, this is may too drying, but with my oily skin and moisturizer, my skin was in equilibrium. I even noticed my face didn't get as oily as it typically does in the middle of the day! Overall, I think this bar can help people with oily and acne-prone skin. It does have a slight smell to it, and I found it makes my shower smell a bit since it's in an enclosed area. During the day, I can sometimes pick up on the sulfur as well, but asking my girlfriend, she said she doesn't notice it at all. It may depend on how sensitive one is to certain smells. I do like the fact that this bar gives me a good sense of balance in that it helps with oily skin and helps dry out any blemishes. If I feel my face getting too dry, I just add moisturizer. Try it out, and see if it works for you!

Heck yeah it works!
Since it seems to work for myriad skin issues, I got this to see if would alleviate stubborn lichen planus symptoms. I used it in the shower, so used it on my face, too. It was fine, great lather, no odor, no dryness or skin irritation of any kind. So far no improvement on the LP, but holy shhhhh, completely unexpectedly my face looks amazing. Pores shrank to zero. Even more impressive considering this is during an extended period of blistering high summer heat & suffocating humidity, which usually makes my oily skin go wonky. I can't ever remember using a bar soap on my face. This company's bar soap is more potent than the liquid face soap it sells, so I guess I'll be sticking with the bar. Kinda pricey for body soap, but just used for face the cost won't be bad.

Gentle, skin softening sulfur soap
I did a lot of research when looking for a sulfur face soap to hopefully help with rosacea break-outs on my nose. I am an older person with dry skin, and many reviewers cited the drying nature of sulfur soaps in general and also the off-putting smell of sulfur. I chose to order DermHarmony mainly due to a shorter list of ingredients (aka, fewer additives). I would have preferred NO salicylic acid, but nearly all the sulfur soaps contain it for some reason. I received my order yesterday. Upon opening and using this bar of soap last night, I noticed first of all that it had NO SMELL. No, it not only doesn't smell like rotten eggs; it doesn't smell like much of anything at all. Secondly, it did not cause the awful drying or burning that so many people reviewing sulfur soaps complained about. I noticed a mild "tightening" of the skin when it was on, but it appeared to rinse cleanly off, and my skin felt very soft afterward. I happened to notice a strange new break-out pimple near my hairline last night as well, so I used some sulfur soap on it, left the soap on for a few minutes, and then rinsed it off. I usually use a small amount of Aveeno regular lotion before bed, and that is all I needed after washing with this soap. This morning I lathered this sulfur soap and used it only on my nose. I left it on for about 10 minutes, then rinsed it off. No burning, no redness, no smell, no excessive dryness. After two uses, it does not appear to have have an affect on the rosacea either way, but I know it can take awhile to see results. However, also this morning, I noticed the pimple near the hairline is now a barely noticeable small bump under the skin. Whether the soap had a part in clearing it or not I can't be sure as it might have gone down on its own overnight even without the soap (but, it is my first data point). I rate this soap 4 stars for a gentle sulfur soap that softens skin with minimal drying. I probably wouldn't do well with anything stronger, so this was a good choice for me. I'll update my review and add a star if I find that this soap is effective in helping to treat rosacea break-outs or even to rapidly clear that occasional pimple of unknown origin.

I ordered this soap to help with tinea versicolour and wow! It does not stink like sulfur, it does not burn. It is gentle yet very effective. In my case, it has helped gently exfoliate this top layer of skin to reveal new fresh skin. I have so far used it once in the AM and once in the PM. I am writing this review after one day because I have seen such a big difference. It can be a bit drying in the shower, but that feeling goes away once you step out and towel dry. The soap also lathers super well, so a little bit goes a long way!

I bought for my dandruff but it didn't help at all!

Summer has arrived early and it’s time for heat and humidity = dermatitis. So far this has been great, no smell or fragrance just an old fashioned soap. Lathers up really well, only very little is required and cost efficiency is great, would definitely recommend. Leaves healthy looking skin and very smooth.

me and my sister have that kind of relationship where we’re out here picking at each others pimples every now and then. since using this, id asked my sister to check out the pimples on my back and let me know if there’s any bad ones. usually i suffer from tiny bumps and maybe a couple bigger pimples around my back- but I lifted my shirt to absolutely nothing!! she told me my skin looked as if it was healing and there was nothing for her to pop. do with that information as you will. I’ve also been using this on my face every night and applying retinol after- though i’ll have to check in and let you guys know if i see any changes in my skin as they’re both newer additions to my skincare routine and retinol is known to purge :) it is quite drying, but not overly.
