SinkShroom Revolutionary Clog-Free Sink Strainer Basket with Stopper, Stainless Steel

This drain cover should be standard! I am extremely pleased to say this was a perfect fit for my kitchen sink drain. Although looking different, the design is pure genius and noticeably there is nothing like it on the market. I frankly dont know why the original drain cover has such large slits which in all cases allow too much food debris to make it into the pipes. These holes are just the right. Almost all debris gets caught by the strainer - including rice and other small bits which ultimately mean far fewer or no more blockages. Best of all, above other sink drain covers, this adopts an innovative design whereby there always remains enough air and space i.e. on top, to allow water to pass through without clogging up. Since fitting, I have had zero complaints and simply had to leave to a review to recommend to others!

I was a bit unsure if this drain cover would suit our sink as I had read mixed reviews. Thought would still give it a try. Turned out it’s a perfect fit for our sink. I like it that it has a bit that pops up for you to take it out from the drain and empty and clean it. The holes are of right size too- enough to block all kinds of food debris but not stopping water from draining away. The materials feel good quality too.

I bought this because I’m a huge fan of the ShowerShroom, which has done great for our shower. I hoped this would be the equivalent miracle cure for the kitchen sink, but unfortunately, it hasn't quite worked out. The build quality is fine, but the fit is the issue. On my sink, it doesn't sit perfectly flush against the drain. There is a tiny gap around the base - just big enough for small food particles, like grains of rice, to flow right underneath the strainer and bypass it entirely. It does catch larger debris if the water is flowing fast enough to carry it over the lip and into the basket, and it looks nicer than the open drain hole, but the fact that small scraps can slip underneath defeats the main purpose of having it. If it fits your sink perfectly, it’s probably great, but be aware that it might not seal as tightly as you need it to.

Tried two "standard" slotted drain baskets by reputable manufacturers and all of them fail to catch thin noodles and small scraps. They all end up in drain trap which needs dissembling and cleaning - messy. The SinkShroom seems to catch almost everything without stopping the water flow (until of course it gets too full). All that is missing is an integrated stopper but this is a minor issue as I can always replace with a standard stopper when needed. It fits a UK standard 80 mm (3.25 inch) opening with a depth of not less than 25mm (1 inch). It is heavy enough not to dislodge under strong water stream from tap and water does not seem to seep under the outer rim. Great product -does what I wanted it to do.

I'm sure it works fine......if it fits in your sink, which it doesn't in mine, can't send it back as you have to mash the packaging to get it out, waste of my money.

By far the best sink strainer. Fits my 2 sinks of different sizes, is very sturdy and has smaller holes than many others therefore stops much more debris from going through than others. Very pleased with my purchase.

It’s for a big plug hole - sent it back and got a refund - good product tho if your pug hole is wide enough

Works well, fits pretty well. Easy to clean. Durable. Doesn't impede drainage. Doesn't catch as much as a mesh strainer, but it's easier to clean. Still, I recommend it.

It’s not exactly cheap but i fits perfectly on my old HDB kitchen sink. I have tried the China no brands ones which look nice but are usually too tall for the sink. This one works fine catching all the rubbish and does not flood the sink. I only wish that the design allows for the water to be stopped by pushing a piston down. Don’t mind paying a bit more for an enhanced version.

Product is good. Stainless steel. Unfortunately, size was bigger than my shrink. So, I had already returned.

Gamechanger— the wife and I are blown away by how well it works. The water gets through while trapping scraps. Our sink smells and looks better without constant water stains from standing water.
