As of now it is growing like crazy, putting out new leaves and even flowering. It already began touching the grow lights so we relocated them more off to the sides. We may have to buy taller lights! 6. The first uploaded picture shows it outside on the first day or so. We then brought it inside. I leave it indoor for display during night time. It is doing very well and new leaves forming after 2 months. Make sure the soil get plenty of water, moist not wet, and fertilizer for tree to have nutrients. I have been doing bonsai for 8 years. Trust me it will work. **Q: conflicting information...will this survive indoors and with how much natural or artificial light or is it needed to be outside a portion of the day** A: Definitely needs some time outside. Mine was drying out frequently indoors and I was watering it to much in my opinion. As it is a tree I felt it needed more natural sunlight (morning 2 mid afternoon exposure) indirect and a portion of direct sunlight. I also kept it out overnight on my back porch occasionally. I like to give all my bonsai fresh air and real sunlight at least a couple times a wk. They seem HaPPier....ο™Œο™Œ. P.s they actually get more vibrant color .....my opinon **Q: I've killed three trees; they live outdoors, quarter day sun, watered every other day - they flourish, go dormant in winter, then die! Any thoughts?** A: I would recommand using bonsai soil with very well drainage. Also have slow release fertilizer on top of the soil so the tree can get nutrients because after a while the tree roots will suck up all the nutrients from the soil inside the pot. If your location is too cold, windy, and have snows, most bonsai will die. Even expert have a hard time keeping them alive. I have been purchasing bonsai for over 8 years. I killed the same type of plant I purchased from this seller when I was living in st.louis cold winter. However, now I live in Vegas, the plant is doing very well.
