Only thing that helped my restless arms & I was able to sleep finally
This is the first lotion I've had that truly doesn't have a scent which is nice. It's kind of thick when applying it which felt strange but I honestly did so much searching into what would help so I was desperate. Obviously consult your doctor but mine was unavailable. I have severe restless arms syndrome that makes it difficult to sit and relax and it's even worse when I'm attempting to sleep and it'll wake me up in the middle of the night. I currently take pramipexole which is a prescription medication for it but it's been suggested that I'm experiencing augmentation because it's been getting worse and I just really needed sleep. I massaged some of this lotion on both of my arms from my shoulders to my wrists and it had an odd feeling but it calmed down the sensation and I was finally able to get sleep again without that horrible uncontrollable urge to jerk and move my arms. Idk if it will help others with the same issue but I'm glad it helped me cause it's the worst feeling when you're running out of ideas how to fix it. Tens units stopped helping, massaging stopped helping, my doctor increased the dosage too, heat is supposed to help but it doesn't that much so it was a miracle that this lotion actually helped. Mind you, I went in using the lotion with the mindset of a desperate person but still thinking it probably wouldn't do anything so I'm a very pessimistic person and it helped. No irritation to my skin either.

Magnesium lotion that works for restless legs!
With my daughter's strong recommendation, I ordered this lotion to help alleviate leg cramping at night. It truly works, and now I won't go a night without this. I have had a long history of "restless legs" and this magnesium lotion makes it literally disappear. Strongly recommmend this!

Works great!
I love this lotion so much! It helps to calm my legs at night when I have restless legs. Nothing else has worked for that in the past, even oral magnesium supplements. It does have a few downsides which is why I took away one star. For me, it’s very thick and hard to rub it and leaves my legs a bit sticky. I also don’t love the vanilla frosting smell. All that being said, I still use it and repurchase it because it works SO well for me!

smells great, feels great
I've bought this three times, maybe more. It feels great on the skin. The vanilla smells great. It eases minor aches and pains- but does not work miracles. I have never had a bad reaction or a stinging sensation from this like I have from other magnesium lotions.

Effective, Penetrating ... Smelly
I have terrible restless legs. And I am always looking for relief. I just made my first application of the lotion and I feel interesting sensations in my legs. That's hopeful. Fingers crossed. I didn't think through where I applied it. Tomorrow I will do the spasm areas mindfully. Ex.: My spasms are above my knee up onto the top of my thigh. But in my calves the spasms are on the back of the leg, near the biggest muscle. So I redid that. I am a believer in transformation absorption and it seems this lotion delivers. Applying it is not easy. So I turned the application into a mini massage. The lotion leaves quite a thick, white residue. I like heavy products. And the white residue disappears. And your skin is quite smooth; not at all sticky. BUT ... we have to talk about the scent! After 15 minutes, I still smell like I waded in milk of magnesia! It's overpowering! I shudder to think what my sheets will smell like. And I fear my very xpensive down comforter will also absorb the scent. I have spent some time in marketing and skin care product formulation but not being a chemist I don't know if the scent can be played down -- or covered -- with no loss of efficacy. But it's worth a few tests. I will rebuy & use the product because it feels effective but the scent is a real issue for me. 2 Weeks later This actually works. I didn't apply it for 2 nights -- the smell in general & on my sheets -- and on both woke up with restless legs. Suggestions to the maker: 1. PLEASE fix the scent ... but keep the efficacy. 2. If you can't fix the scent, develop an over-lotion, a second layer to block it. 3. Develop massage routines to enhance the lotion(s). And you might want to consider the pajama business. That is my solution for now.

INFO ON MAGNESIUM - nice vanilla scent and softened the skin-cheaper elsewhere
NFO ON MAGNESIUM - AND - cream had nice vanilla scent and softened the skin...but who knows how much magnesium you get I have included some information gotten from the NIH.gov site. The information below is intended ONLY as information and NOT medical advice. People trying to dose themselves with anything should talk to their doctors first. One of my biggest problems with magnesium in the form of a cream, is that you do not know how much you are dosing yourself with, or how much is getting in. If they said one teaspoon applied to inner thigh would give you X amount, that would be helpful but I didn't see anything to that effect. Since magnesium can interfere with a number of medications, IF it could be absorbed through the skin, at a rate that could be stated...this would be a good thing. I have no idea if I am absorbing magnesium. I guess I would have to spring for a before and after lab test to tell. But even this would not really tell me much because only 1% of the magnesium is in the serum, most is put into the bones. Normal blood serum levels of magnesium should be around 0.75- 0.95 mmol/l. The RDA for most people is between 360-410mg a day. 30-40% of the magnesium you eat is absorbed. I can't tell if my muscle cramps or joint pains are any better. I had no itching at all. I can tell it has a slight vanilla odor, which I like; and that the cream leaves my skin feeling soft. signs of deficiency are: ....early: loss of appetite nausea and vomiting fatigue, weakness ....as it worsens you notice numbness, tingling muscle contractions and cramps seizures personality changes abnormal heart rhythms coronary spasms ....and at a severe level you levels of calcium and potassium decrease.which have their own set of symptoms. BUT you CAN overdose with magnesium supplementation and many of the symptoms are the same nausea, vomiting, fatigue low blood pressure, facial flushing, retention of urine, ileus, depression ....and as it gets worse muscle weakness, difficulty breathing, VERY low blood pressure, irregular heart rhythm, and your heart stopping. Risk for magnesium overload increases with renal failure as you are not able to excrete the magnesium, and the kidneys are the main organ for regulating the magnesium in your body. That said the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey or NHANES of 2005-6 said that the majority of Americans of all ages ingest less magnesium than the recommended allowances. Especially old men and adolescent females. Especially at risk may be people that have increased loss like diabetics as the increased glucose in their urine makes them urinate more, and those that have decreased gut absorption like those with chronic diarrhea. Alcoholics also may be at risk as well. There has been some evidence that: > increasing magnesium may help decrease strokes (100mg/day decreased ischemic strokes by 8%) > may help decrease the incidence of migraines if taken daily. > It may also help maintain bone density in post menopausal women -elemental magnesium ( magnesium citrate) was used at 290mg/ per day. Medications (in general BUT ALWAYS CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTORS FIRST BEFORE USING, AND MAKE SURE THAT THEY KNOW YOU ARE TAKING MAGNESIUM OR ANY OTHER SUPPLEMENT, OR HERB) that Magnesium can or does interfere with include but are not limited to things like: Interactions with Medications . Bisphosphonates -(used to treat osteoporosis) can decrease the absorption. Separate use by at LEAST 2 hours. Antibiotics - tetracyclines, doxycyclines, quinolones, ciporfloxacin, levofloxacin. Magnesium can form insoluble clmpleses with them. Again at LEAST 2 hours needs to be between taking BEFORE antibiotics and magnesium, OR AT LEAST 4-6 hours after taking magnesium or magnesium containing supplement. I don't know how this applies to absorption through skin. Diuretics loop diuretics, furosemide, bumetanide, and thiazide diuretics can increase the loss of magnesium. But potassium-sparing diuretics reduce magnesium excretion. Proton pump inhibitors (for heart burn and gastric reflex) when taken for long periods can cause low magnesium (hypomagnesemia). The FDA says doctors should monitor patient's levels of magnesium while on these medications. Even taking a supplement with these medications may fail to raise the level of magnesium.

Seems to work as intended
I purchased as a cheaper alternative then what I was using for intense leg muscle spasms. I used this after a long day of intense work where I expect issues. I believe this mg cream help prevent/reduce severe muscle spasms. I will continue to use as a prevent defense to eliminate and/or reduce the intensity or duration of leg muscle spasms.

Good product poor shipping method
The product is great, but I don't like that Amazon DE does not provide an option to choose a carrier. Several times I had problems receiving packages - either they are very late or I don't get a notification and the package does not come to my house, but I have to go an pick it up from a post office.
