Trading Card Game Battle Academy (Cinderace V, Pikachu V & Eevee V)

Fantastic game for kids to understand how to play Pokémon card game. I bought the game for my 6 year old son who had started getting into collecting Pokémon cards - he loved it so much I bought the same for his 2 best friends for their 7th birthdays and they loved it too. The set comes with a playing board with spaces for the playing cards and prompts to help you remember what to do in each players turn, a game coin, and battle hit point markers. There are 3 card sets - Pikachu, Cinderace and Evee. When you first start playing there is a guide which takes you through the first few rounds - this is brilliant for quickly getting to grips with how to play. The game is simplified enough that it’s not too complicated for kids, but complex enough that you do have to learn to be strategic. If my son carries on playing we will add booster packs and start to add on more complex game play like Pokémon weakness and resistances.

Bought as xmas present for my 8 year old daughter who has never been into Pokémon but does enjoy board games. She didn’t like it, she loved it, apparently - so success!! Very easy to learn as it starts simple and there’s even a tutorial video online which we watched rather than having to read the rules. She then went off and taught her mum how to play after we’d had a couple of games. There is more complexity, which we haven’t got to yet, around weaknesses and strengths which I assume is like fire beats grass, water beats fire etc. like in the video games. Of the three decks included, we’ve only used two (for simplified start up) so still have the third deck to look through when attempting the complete rule set. Overall a good set that’s good value for money, certainly the right price for testing someone who you might not be sure will enjoy it! And for those parents who want a way into nostalgia-ville this is a good gateway. I choose you!!

This is a lovely little set and well presented. It would definitely easily get you started in playing this game. My son and I play it a few times a week. He’s nearly 8 and arguably it’s educational because he has to read and understand rules and add and subtract. It has 3 decks of 60 cards: a Pikachu deck, a Cinderace deck (never heard of him before but he’s firey) and an Eevee deck for advanced play. It has a lovely game board with all the right slots for the cards and hit point tokens and a coin for flipping. Good value for money I thought. It comes with an easy to use tutorial that works with the unshuffled Pikachu and Cinderace decks. If you buy booster packs or those other sets along the way you can mix in your own decks too to extend the lifespan and enjoyment.

This contains all the parts you need to start learning the mechanics and play moves for Pokemon TCG. The best bit is that the decks are super simple so that you can focus on the gameplay and strategy basics without having to dive straight into the far more mature mechanics unless you really want to. The play board is a brilliant too. I dropped a star on the review because the advanced Eevee deck have a cutting error from a manufacturing error, but its only on a few of the energy cards.

I got this for my 8 year old daughter who only had a few random Pokémon cards but wanted to actually play and as a starter/introduction to the game - you really couldn’t get any better. There are 3 ready-made decks in here, that’s 180 cards. A play board, damage tokens and full instructions. 2 of the decks are even specially ordered so players can follow the instructions for their first game and learn the rules. The number of cards and the fact that they are three pre-made decks means this really is exceptional value for money and if anyone is looking to start playing Pokémon you would be crazy not to start here.

Great value for money, nice size and excellent quality, yet to play and learn but always been more a collector of Pokémon but now have it as you never know when you might want to play your first battle haha

When the product arrived it appeared that it had been rewrapped to look like a 'new product' . We decided to open it and it was clear that thie game had been opened previously. Luckily all the contents was accounted for but it would explain why there are reviews saying things are missing. Be careful!

I used to play Pokemon TCG and Yu-Gi-Oh! card game back when I was primary school. Then recently I downloaded the Pokemon TCG pocket mobile game. It sparks my fire to play Pokemon again! So I bought this Pokemon TCG Academy, to relearn the basics and also get my wife and family to play with me. Reduce screen time, increase bonding time! Delivery was quite fast, the product also came in perfect condition. Everything are in the box as described. Super excited to start playing!

Perfect as described and top quality. The decks are absolutely helping to learn the game properly and can be expanded by buying further pre built deck. Totally recommended for kids and adults too who want dive into pokémon world.

All good about this product, i got it for a cheap price compare to the mall price in Dubai, it came properly boxed and no damaged. The kids enjoyed it. They love the battle arena included - it it big and thick.

Mon fils adore ce jeu de plateau. Il est difficile à comprendre au début lorsque l’on est pas familier avec l’univers des Pokémon. Il m’a fallu du temps avant de savoir jouer. Le jeu possède de nombreuses subtilités qu’un enfant de 6 ans (âge recommandé sur la boîte) ne peut pas saisir. Idéalement il faut aussi savoir lire afin de pouvoir organiser ses combats / ses attaques. Les différents decks disponibles à l’achat (ou à construire) du JCC modifient le jeu à chaque fois.

Era para un regalo y cumplió con las expectativas. Contiene todos los elementos necesarios para aprender a jugar desde cero. Manual de instrucciones bien escrito y explicado.
