I also went on Dell's forum website, and reccomendations were to use only Crucial brand of ram. Different reviews stated they had problems with the 1066 mhz ram. I read the product description for this ram and noted it was guaranteed to work in my Optiplex. So even though it was only 533 mhz I ordered it. More than one review stated to be sure and update the BIOS to the A15 version. I did this prior to installing the new ram. The ram sent to me has a Dell sticker on both of them. The ram installed (in spite of my stiff fingers) and I turned on the computer. I run a program called Speccy that give a detail system analisis. The new ram was detected as dual channel too. This ram is exactly what I wanted. I would not hesitate to order this ram if you have a OEM Optiplex 780 minitower.
