Doesn't support Cricket Wireless
This was a father's day gift. I had to return it. I own the same phone, and can say it's a great phone, I just had to return it because he was under Cricket Wireless and it's not covered under "most carriers".

Do not buy on Amazon.
This phone has been a disaster for us. Google will not make good on the 1 year warranty if not bought directly from them. The RMA process has been the worst customer service I have ever worked with. I purchased this phone on Amazon because I didn't want to set up another account to buy something. It was not much cheaper than buying directly from Google at that time. When shipped it took about 5 days, and then I received a message that a signature was required at delivery. Nothing said that in the purchasing process. So it took about 10 days for me to get the phone. I put in my sim card into this phone, and it appeared to work, but after a few hours I found out I was not getting all services. I switched back to my old phone and working with my carrier it took about another week to figure out I needed a new sim card because of the 5g. I guess going from 4g to 5g required a new one. Also, I guess that's not just a known thing when you contact them. I wouldn't think a sim card would have anything to do with that. After about 3 more days, when I plugged my phone into the charger the port shorted out and burnt up. I contacted Google, and the initial contact said I would receive an answer as to if they felt their current phone that I purchased was good enough to warrant. Well after about 3 weeks of back and forth communication that many times they wanted a response, but there was no question? So that process was all with an AI and was very very broken. It does not know how to communicate, but tries to act as though you were talking to a person but clearly we're not. In that process they told me my warranty had expired, but I should be grateful because they were going to still RMA the product. So here I am almost 2 months after I purchased an expensive new phone, used it for about 3 days, and am going to receive a refurbished phone for the cost of a new phone, and it will have no warranty. Our pixel 3s, and 4s have been great. We ordered this to replace a 3 because the battery was going out on it, so we were going to get another. The price keeps going up each new series. And having my experience this time, I think next time I am doing Samsung if we stay on Android.

A Good Mid-Tier Phone
Chose this Pixel 5a over the 6a and up from the 4a 5g. My 4a basically died after the last update. The phone got really warm and started displaying a menu about bootloader. Never could get it to reset properly. Anyhow staying hopeful for this 5a. The big deciding factors were rear fingerprint sensor, headphone jack, ip67 rating, metal unibody (even though it has the soft covering), and improved battery... A week in and all the Pixel goodness is here. No issues with heating though I haven't tried the 4k 60fps video and probably never will. I value more being able to point and shoot and get quality pics and vids. This phone doesn't disappoint there. Not all good, like the setup is frustratingly long if transferring from another phone. Between apps and Android 12 update which has to be completed for apps loaded on the previous device under android 12 to load. Probably not specific to this phone but worth noting since I thought something was actually wrong for a minute. Again the value is here given the hardware, software enhancements, and legacy items, hp jack and fingerprint reader. I do feel a bit jipped by Amazon since I bought it at an increased price for an included car charger but it wasn't included! Again solid phone for Android users who don't want flagship.

very good phone!!
EC fashions out of Brooklyn New York I was very quick to replace this phone or send out another one overnight to make this right they did a bang-up job actually after I talk badly about them I'm very sorry about that the phone works wonderfully it's a Google 5A5g I'm partial to this phone. The lot that he has right now is new or very clean they come and Google boxes they don't look reeboxed very nice phone everything I wanted and expected no overheating issues yet we'll see I don't really do any 4K video so should be okay I hope and with these things now being sub $200 perfect when you get these things set up correctly these Google phones are very fast and very efficient

Did great but screen died just after the year mark
I loved the quality of the packaging and the real charger included but unfortunately the entire screen died just after the 1 year mark. I still use the phone with a new screen and no ther parts have issues

Phone is complete trash
The phone is actually quite nice, but it has problems. Once it black screens the phone is a brick. Google wont repair or replace the phone. I purchased it from the google store on amazon.com. Google says they "Can't see the IMEI" I asked what that meant and they said it isnt in their system. It is the right number, but its just not showing up for them. This was my first pixel device, and now it is guaranteed to be my last. I shouldn't have expected anymore from google, but for some reason I did. Phone lasted 15 months. I guess I did better than other people who had the same problem after a month or 2. If you are buying android, but samsung because google is trash.

Super Buy
Good phone! More time before recharging. This was a great choice for me.

This cell phone met my expectations
Very easy to recover apps and files from previous phone. Battery life looks really good so far. Oled display is great. No problems upgrading for a pixel user. I did not use the fingerprint reader or facial recognition features. Talk about overkill. Who needs this kind of stuff when you are not in a war zone. I never understood the need for those features. I still have to check out the cameras. But, so far everything is good.

My wife bought this phone brand-new and had it for a little over 3 years. One day last month, right in the middle of using it (and without ever having damaged it in any way), it suddenly blanked out and died, and she couldn't restart it. Of course, we threw it on the charger and tried every possible key combination to revive it, but -- apart from a minor glimmer of hope one time when the Google logo showed as if it was going to boot up -- it never showed any life again. Google-authorized service depot told us it was not the battery but likely the motherboard. Numerous online reports described similar sudden deaths for this phone and other generations of Pixels -- and Google themselves quietly increased the warranty period from 1 year to 2 because of this (we were well beyond that, of course). We did buy another Pixel because my wife really liked the phone -- but if something like this happens again, we are done with Google phones for good. Would NOT buy again.

Fast phone. Very responsive. Great camera (front and back). Finger print reader works well. Screen is bright with good colour. However.... Read some reviews of heat issues with this phone but they claimed to appear only when filming 4k.....yeah no. So if you are someone, like me, who spends lots of time on video conference calls you're going to be unhappy. This phone when stressed HEATS UP. After less than 5 minutes i got heat warnings and messages of impending shut down during conference calls. To fix it i have to take this out of its protective case AND point the ac vents in my car so that they blow over the phone. If you just want this as a phone and camera and a game player etc then totally buy it. BUT if you need this for business AVOID IT.

This phone was doing great for 2 months and then totally bricked on its own with absolutely zero damage or exposure to anything (heat, cold, water) - see photos. When I made a claim under Google's 1-year warranty, they refused to repair or replace the phone because this seller is not an "authorized seller" in Canada or US. I thought this seller was reputable because of good reviews and because the phone was delivered brand new in its original packaging or so I thought... guess not. While I think its only fair if this seller would help me out by providing a replacement for this defective product, I'm not sure if that will ever happen. So ya, don't throw away $650 of your hard earned money like I did.
