I found my new favorite pillow!
For the last couple years, I've had a contoured memory foam pillow (not this brand). I am a side-only sleeper due to snoring, and I found recently that I tend to only use the very edge of the pillow to keep my jaw/mouth in a position where I can sleep. I decided to try a more traditionally shaped pillow with a flat top, and this is the one I chose due to the advertised "cooling" of the foam and fabric on the cooling side of the cover.Foam Shape/Material: Switching from a contoured pillow to this pillow has been amazing. It fits my needs very well, and I am confident I am getting a better nights sleep. It's difficult to tell if the air holes in the foam are actually helping anything, but it seems a little bit cooler than the pillow I was using previously that had no air holes to pull heat down into the pillow. The height is about .5" lower than my previous pillow, but works just fine.Cover: The fabric on the "non-cooling" side is soft and has a nice texture. The "cooling" fabric on the flip side, which I thought I'd prefer, is a bit slick/plastic-y feeling and is not to my liking really. This is especially evident as I often sleep with my hand/arm below my pillow. I'm sure it's something I'll get used to. It is definitely cooler for a few seconds, but that quickly goes away and it settles into body temperature. I actually wish I could order either a pillow and case, or just a case, where the standard fabric is on both sides. This does not seem to be an option, unfortunately. The only "con" that I have for this pillow is the lack of double-sided standard fabric as mentioned above, and also the zipper. The zipper is on one side of the pillow, but the zipper itself wraps around the edge about an inch or so. We have a wood headboard, and sometimes when re-positioning the pillow at night, it hits against our headboard and clicks, waking up my wife. It would have been nice if an extra flap of fabric would fold over the zipper once zipped up to eliminate this and also hide the zipper/zipper pull. I may ask my wife to sew one on for me.

Good for side sleepers, I wish it was a little bigger
[bzymom's freeloader daughter here]I am a big fan of this pillow, as is my boyfriend. I mostly acquired it to try and get him to use it, in hopes of helping his neck/shoulder pain he has in the mornings. He works a physical job as a general contractor and is very tired and very sore most days. When I can get him to use it, he admits it helps a lot with his pain. It is a medium thickness, with a memory foam feel but not quite as stiff. Normally I sleep with two pillows (slightly propped up because side sleeper and acid reflux) but I find this one will suffice on its own with no additional help. I did not notice an odd smell or anything when I first opened it, so I can't speak to that, but I will note it is smaller than a standard pillow and thus does not fill a standard pillow case. This isn't a huge deal but I have noticed the case will be twisted weird with the side seems in the middle (and seem marks on my face) after an "active" sleep. The cool side doesn't last forever, but is so very nice and fresh feeling when you first lay on it. I notice the coolness when I fall asleep but do not feel it when I wake up - if that makes sense. I took off a star just because I wish it was a little bigger to fit a standard pillow case. Beyond that I am very pleased and so is my boyfriend!

Exceeded Expectations
This is everything we want in our pillow, while we have back necks and back, a pillow is very important for getting a good night's sleep. This Pillow with it's Ventilated memory Foam, does the trick. Now we were both very skeptical pillows come and go, but the good ones they stay. Believe me this one is a keeper. If you have back neck or shoulder, problems, this pillows helps in elevating your neck just right in a good position and does not make you sweat. It keeps you more cool. You will definitely not wake up with a stiff neck, the way we use too, i believe in this pillow, in fact when my Son and daughter in law were out here, they got such a good night's sleep on these pillows, that they went back home, and ordered, them some.So many pillow Mfg's make claims to having the best pillows. While my husband and i were both very skeptical, because we heard it all before, we were absolutely amazed with just one night of sleeping on these pillows. My head was in the correct position, and i notice i did not toss and turn all night on these pillows. I got a better night's sleep because i did not toss and turn. If you have some of the problems i had while sleeping, please do yourself a favor and buy these pillows. What do you have to lose. I will make sure on my Christmas List, that these are on them.

Like a firm pillow? This is for you
I stumbled across this pillow some years ago after trying many others: buckwheat, down, I even do-si-do-ed with "My Pillow" (don't believe the hype). For me this pillow was and is the bomb. Firm yet cool. I love it. Worth every single penny.

great pillow, but it stained my pillowcase with oil from inside the pillow
One of the best pillows on which I've ever slept, but I kept noticing that the white pillowcases were getting dirty more quickly than I'd ever seen. Thinking it was my skin or hair, I started scrubbing my face and showering at night rather than the morning, to make sure my hair was clean. Didn't help. Then I put a light-blue pillowcase on it before a trip, and saw patches of oil stain on the pillowcase when I took it out of the back of the SUV, when I hadn't even slept on it. By the next morning, most of the upper side was oily and about half of the lower side. It could only have come from inside the pillow. So I washed the outer cover of the pillow and put a clean pillowcase on, and sure enough, within a couple of hours, some oily stains had appeared. Too bad. Never seen this before and I'm so disappointed.

Ok but not the pillow for me
I have to keep flipping the pillow around because it sinks down too much where my head is at. It also gets too warm for me. I'm not getting the support I need for a restful night's sleep. It might be just right for others though.
