2 Tommy Bahama Backpack Cooler Chair with Storage Pouch and Towel Bar (Turquoise)

One star for being a great looking chair. Another star for backpack, storage & cooler pouch, removable pillow. Zero stars for everything else about these chairs. I am almost positive we received the wrong chairs! The seat section itself is only 17.5 inches less the side bars that the material is wrapped around. I don't see anyone being comfortable crammed in from side to side and I definitely cannot see a 300 lb person fitting at all. I am 5' 5" size 12 female and I fit with maybe .5" to 1" to spare before my hips touch the side bars. No way my 6'2" 225 lb husband will fit in this chair comfortably if at all. The height of the back is perfect for me but add 9 more inches of man height and no way! The front bar to the seat is extremely uncomfortable and this is just on trial test run. The seat doesn't even extend to my mid thigh and that bar!!! Poor hubby is going to be so disappointed when he arrives home from work to find this chair was actually barely suitable for his wife's size. Poorly advertised and shoud have been more clear on the actual seat and back dimensions. I assumed 2-4 inches for arm width but truly cheesey to post the dimensions from less than a half inch curve in the center of the arm as the 24.5" width dimension. Most of the arm width is 23 3/4" So again, unless I received the wrong chairs, buyer beware, the seat is only 17.5 inches wide! Don't waste $105.00 unless you're smaller than an average size female.To top it off - each chair had a feature attachment that includes 11 addresses and phone numbers to Costco Wholesale Distribution! So I assume that other reviewers that indicated they bought these chairs from Costco for approximately $30.00 are correct. I could have paid the Costco annual membership fee, purchased these chairs, and reaped the benefits of a Costco membership for the next year for nearly the same price that I paid for these chairs. I guess anyone can buy Wholesale and resale for whatever they want but to ship these chairs with the Costco info attached was a slap in the face! I was the sucker on this one! So mad at my vulnerability. Lol

This is a nice lightweight portable chair that can be carried on your back like a backpack. All the pockets and cooler compartments are great. And is as comfortable as can be expected. Only drawback in my case is that it seems like when folded and I'm carrying it on my back one of the legs hits right against my tailbone and is uncomfortable so that I feel I have to put my hand back there to keep it from hitting, which of course is awkward. Also you must practice and learn how to unfold and fold it back up. Or you will end up like me trying relentless under the hot summer sun to fold it back up with everyone on the beach watching me (and probably snickering) as I tried unsuccessfully to fold it. Eventually just picking the damn thing up and marching off the beach with it unfolded. Lol, I have since practiced better and am now able to close it with a flourish and a degree of grace.

A set of these were given to me as a gift and I loved them so much I bought more for our guests who visit us at the beach. Our entire beach looks like a Tommy Bahama store, but that's all right, because these are definitely worth it. The back has two zippered pockets that are waterproof and there is a mesh side pocket and another pocket with a velcro closure just under the right arm. They are sturdy (We are at the end of our second summer with them) yet very light to carry like a back pack with sturdy straps. They open easily and you can adjust the height for the back. They fold up nicely once you figure out that it needs to be turned over so you can hold one leg in each hand and quickly push them together. That will collapse them. Then, on the side with the back straps, you connect the top and bottom velcro, slip your arms through it so it's on your back, and you're ready to go! I'm a 68 yo woman and love it!

These chairs were bought for vacation at the beach. We were having a great time, but one chair is now bent. My husband is not 300 lbs, does not ‘flop’ in a chair. He went to sit in the chair and the chair began to slowly bend. Now it is totally bent!

got these for the wife and myself for a week visit to St. Joseph, Michigan. Arrived within 2-3 days as promised. Nicely packaged and protected. Very eye catching patterns. Very sturdy and lightweight. You can either use a carry handle or the backpack straps to carry. 2 back pouches with 1 insulated for plenty of storage. 2 pockets on right by seat to hold your drink (even a stainless steel tumbler) and even a velcro pocket for large phones, keys, etc. Removable and adjustable pillow for added comfort. Seat back adjusts to about 4-5 positions and the towel bar on back by headrest also acts as a 3rd leg for support if you have the seat flat. Only complaint is its not comfortable if you are looking to lay completely flat or on your stomach - but no chair is meant to do that - possibly could be addressed by burying front legs deep in sand.

Absolutely terrible. First day on beach seams are ripping. I only weigh 175LBS and barely sat down and front seam tore about 2.5 inches. Hard to believe a quality name turns out to be such an inferior product.

They are made well. Unfortunately, they are on the small side. I expected them to be larger due to the higher weight capacity. They are nice but small.

Bought 2 chairs and started using them 2.5 months ago. The carry handle fell off one chair (unusual because we seldom touch the handles). Two days later the strap that holds chair in place when folded broke, NOT the hook but the fabric strap tore in half. The seat area of both chairs are also showing fabric pull. Seems to us that these chairs are experiencing a fabric dry rot. We expected a good quality chair. Our discount store chairs from last summer season held up better. UPDATE: Contacted Tommy Bahama & 4 days later, referred to Rio Brands to see if anything could be done about these chairs falling apart after several months. NO RETURN email or phone call after 2 contacts.
