Trusting the family's safety on them.
In these troubling times you have to have something to protect your family's safety on, whether it's viruses, or something else. You need to have some filters.

Prepare for the worse, pray for the best.
World is getting crazy. When the apocalypse happens, these may come in handy. Appear to be high quality but won't really know until they're needed. I also recommend a high grade CNBC mask. Not sure the cheaper ones will hold up?

1 sealed, 2 not
I've read several complaints of holes in the vacuum shrinking so I was a little worried that I might receive the same. But this first one that I received appears to have an excellent vacuum on it. Maybe the unlucky few were more likely to post reviews. I hope the rest I get come like this. :) Update: The next 2 filters came without a vacuum seal. I'm sure they will still serve their purpose if needed but a vacuum seal would definitely improve shelf life.

Worth protecting my valuable lungs
This is an excellent filter that allows a nice flow of fresh air into my PAPR mask while cleaning out dangerous particles that might otherwise enter my lungs from the welding and grinding processes I am involved in. I love my lungs. I keep them very close to my heart. I caress them every day. Something so important to me must be cared for with the love and respect that they deserve. So, I have a PAPR device to protect my lungs when grinding and welding. I love to grind and weld metals almost as much as I love my lungs. This filter is a replacement to the one that came with the PAPR mask. The original one did its job very well. I had been unwittingly exposing my lungs to fiberglass fibers. I was using fiberglass welding curtains around my welding booth. The original filter caught a bunch of the fibers right out of the air, and you can see them in the filter. I have since gotten rid of the fiberglass curtains and replaced them with welding curtains made from a translucent material.

Not used yet so shelf life will remain intact. Great to have if they are ever needed! NBC rated.
I write this review based on the quality of the product and the really good packaging. I have not used the product yet so that it's shelf life will remain intact. I'm very familiar with these NBC canisters and if they are ever needed, will work great!

20 year shelf life even if the foil is punctured ignore the bad reviews
I use these for my consulting firm so they MUST work. To those worried about the foil vacuum sealing I talked directly with the company engineers. They told me the vacuum packed silver foil is simply packaging and has nothing to do with the shelf life. The ones they ship to the military dont even have the foil packaging and still have a 20 year shelf life. The shelf life of 20 years is for the canister and the 2 seals on the canister itself. If the two seals on the canister are intact the 20 year shelf life is intact. The following was their direct message to me "All the filters we supply to armies around the world are not supplied with the aluminum packaging. Some customers ask us for another case of this type. I would like to bring to your attention that if the plastic caps on the filters in the front and back are intact then there is no fear that the filter has been damaged and therefore its expiration date remains the same."

pinhole in vacuum package
I ordered two of these so far, and like many others, one was fine, and the other had a pinhole in the vacuum packaging. I don't see what's so hard about keeping these safe from being punctured. The company says that they don't even vacuum seal these for the various militaries around the world, but those organizations will be rotating through their stockpiles for training, so the shelf life doesn't matter. The listing says that it follows standard Amazon return policy, so I may just send one of these back and hopefully they send a good one this next time. I decided to have two a month sent out on a subscription, so I could save some money, but I am not sure if I want to deal with this every month lol. EDIT: Started a return on the one with the hole, and the new one came in so perfect, that it makes me question the other one I thought was good. EDIT 2: Adding pictures, and ended up filing a return on the other original one as well, because it's obvious that it was opened, and then glued back together. The first picture is the first two I received. You can quickly tell that there is air in the bags that are supposed to be air tight. The left has the hole, the right looks sealed, but you can tell it was glued closed if you look at the top of the bag. The second picture shows the pinhole in the first filter. I submitted a return to exchange the first one with the pinhole. The third picture shows what it is supposed to look like (the left one), and after seeing this, I submitted an exchange for the right one from the first picture, and what they sent me is on the right in the 3rd picture. There is a rip in the bag, and the filter is exposed to oxygen. Picture 4, is a close up of the ripped bag on the right of picture 3. So what I assume is happening, is the bags are getting holes or rips while in storage, and the bags that don't have any visible holes, were resealed after being opened. I have initiated a return on the 4th filter, and will be returning it for money back on my card. So out of 4 filters, only one is useable. I would keep returning the filters until I get an amount of them that I am satisfied with, but they are just refunding my card for the unusable filters they sent me. I guess next month when the next two arrive from my auto ship, we will see if they are in a similar condition.
